A favorite episode. Usually in these boys vs girls type episodes it's always the guys being the sexist party but here it was Krystella. A refreshing change of pace to be sure but the fact Krystella was using guy creatures and Peyton was using girl creatures throwing the debate back up in the air is the cherry on top.

if anything it might what inspired him to pull his fight of Deena Vs Cromax in his Battle with Crellan Even Sarah thought Cromax was gonna cubrstomp Deena. But Tom was able to defeat Cromax with her, exploiting the battle gear and location too bad one of crellan's creatures kept bringing cromax back from defeat but still, that doesn't erase the fact tom defeated one of crellan's heavy hitter with what even others considered a weak creature

Honestly, I figured Peyton and Krystella started the fight to teach the other players a lesson about how stupid sexism is. I mean Peyton probably isn't above sexism, but he's aware that it's stupid to try to make a big deal out of it, especially in regards to creatures that could shoot lasers and drive giant two-legged Baba Yaga house tanks. Krystella probably only did it to tick everyone off, because it's Krystella.

I actually appreciate how it really characterises her evil attitude, she didn't HAVE to make it about sex, but she KNEW that was the best way to stoke the flames and seem legitimate against Peyton. If she wins, she crushes his ego and is worshipped by the girls. If she loses, she stood up for the girls and was beaten by a dumb boy. It's pretty manipulative.

Rewatching this episode reminds me of this time back in middle school, where the only known girl Chaotic player was challenged by this guy who always had Mipedians with great stats. She won after her Wamma took out his Siado. After that, more female players started showing their skills.

Some subtle hints that could be picked up on a rewatch that makes sense: During the "fast-forward" battle scenes when a player says X attacks Y such as 6:20, there is no voiceover, this is a set-up indicating something is off that is only noticeable on a re-watch as all the other episodes would contain a voiceover. This one is more of a personal intepretion: The chaotic players who were watching the match quickly realised the plot twist off-screen but as Tom, Kaz and Sarah were too busy talking to one another, they didn't realise it. The others probably realised off-screen and then decided to stop watching the match as by the time it reaches 19:21 when the main three were surprised at the outcome, everyone else in the background were minding their own businesses.

Ngl but Peyton was so real there, he insulted Krystella simply because she tripped him maliciously, then puts her in her place by winning the match. His lines were amazing. XD He's not just the big fun geek who likes to eat, he knows how to battle well and is intelligent about it, and most of the creatures he used there were not from his usual favorite lizard race.

It would make sense but the whole point of the story being told was bc Tom was like, "the girls aren't as lame as I thought they'd be." Sarah got mad and decided to school him. Plus it balances out bc in season 2 and 3 Tangath Toborn saves Perim twice.

How di nobody notice that Peyton and Krystella were battling with creatures of the opposite gender the whole time? Did the drome master decide not to show who was battling with who cause he thought it would be funny to see the reaction of the viewers? The ending of this episode literally made no sense.
