Someone just sent me here as I was just talking about the fact my iron farm rates have fallen in 1.18. Whatever changes were done in 1.18 seems to have affected more farms than people realise.

I am not sure how it affected iron farms, but hostile mobs spawn more frequently at lower Y levels. So the same hostile mob farm will have higher rates in y=-35 than on y=300
