This is one of my favorite villager breeders! My favorite thing about is that easy to turn on and off by just adjusting the trap doors that the farmer looks into. It also can produce so many villagers I will never use all of them. Love this design, and thought I would say something especially since it still works as of right now in 1.17.1 and what looks to still work in 1.18.

@@jeremiah5430 I want to say it took a long time (perhaps several normal days). It may have to do with the villagers filling up their "inventory slots", but I am not positive. I had one villager, and then a few, and then a TON. My world got chunk screwed with a power outage and I did go with a similar but different design and the new one is even more out of control!

@@MS1707-s2s not that long. If you hang out around the breeder for maybe a day or two you should start to see the villagers sleeping properly and make a few babys. For good measure, break any nearby beds to ensure that they’re linked to the proper ones. I think only two of the villagers will sleep since they only have access to two of the beds

In 1.17, The farmer might place the food into the composter, so what you gotta do to prevent that, just place 1 slab above the composter, and the farm should work Hope this helps!

Those villagers are surfing uphill because there's probably 20-odd villagers stacked in each corner. That puts its performance close to this one. Nice design though, I'm working on modifying it for use with bees for pollination.

For anyone that wants to build i've made a material list: 98 Glass (1 stack and 34), 56 Carrot or potato, 56 Dirt, 41 Fence (dosent matter which wood) 40 Leaves (dosent matter which type, also can be replaced with glass), 25 Slabs (dosent matter which type), 13 Trapdoors (dosent matter which type, but i think it cant be iron i might be wrong tho), 4 Lanterns, 4 Water Buckets (can be 2 and an infinite water source too), 4 Beds, 1 Composter.

So I followed this exactly to the letter on 1.16.3, and it worked fine to breed a single villager which then grew up but then nothing else. I THINK it's because there's only 4 beds in the farm, and that meant no more were left because the villager who was born was still close enough to the beds to take one. I've got a tunnel that the water steals a new born baby out and moves it away from the farm (Not far, only 16 ish blocks, whatever the water limit is of one bucket) so that the bed might become available again for a new villager. Does this sound like it'll work? Would like feedback if people are still watching this video.

@@adamearley8469 My problem was I was attempting to build this on Bedrock. Doesn't work. Made it separately in Java - it produced although after some time significant AFKing I eventually had breeding between the crop farmer and the two in the cell which led to four villagers in the center and the farm eventually bricking. All in all it was an effective early farm. Can easily toggle off by flipping the upper trap doors down to prevent the food being tossed.

Based on MY observations and the attempts for me, I don’t believe this works for Minecraft PS4 Bedrock edition. Although after many attempts, I was able to get both villagers in the center on the fence, eventually one would pop out onto a bed. Also it seems as though the villager I would get for the crop harvesting part, would NOT become a farmer. The date is 03/19/20 that I am posting this. If you find a work around to get this setup to work LMK!

After you've finished putting up the group of four trap doors around the block, how do you get the 5th trap door on top of one of them? When I try it just flips the door instead of placing a new one.

@@davidm4186 easy. Try to put a slab as high as possible instead of the middle trapdoor. You will see that you have to leave 1 block empty (because the other trapdoor). Place the slab as high as you can.

It doesn't work for me and I don't know why, I went through it and it's like the tutorial design, they just created a baby villager, but then they don't create babies and I gave them enough carrots, all they do now is swap carrots infinitely, I'm playing on 1.15.2

For some reason my farmer villager breeds with one in the cell and the baby comes out on top. I took the middle trapdoor out near the farmers feet since the farmer kept picking up his own carrots instead of those in the cell. Is there a fix for this?

Yeah put a slab instead of a trapdoor in that position I think, that way in theorie he can give carrots or potatoes but can't take them back because he's out of reach Let me know if it worked because I m about to build it

This works for me, however the farmer refuses to pick any crops on the opposite side of the composter. Could using 2 farmers remedy this?

Just elimate half of the crops basically. Near the end of the video I explain that once the farms get primed and going. The farmer only farms half of the crop area but that is enough to keep up on the breeding and sharing

That is up to you, if you’re doing a villager trading hall or an iron farm. Just gotta be a least 40 blocks away or more, I made Chapman’s super iron farm( in Java 15.2 j and is insane I get 8 golems to spawn sometimes. Now I’m starting a villagers trading hall using the same villager farm and to extract the villagers is easy just use a solid block across the opposite corner where you put your water source, use some power rails, a lever and a mine cart. I used 3 power rails, put the mine cart on the first rail push it and extracts villager good luck hope this helps

Maybe he doesn't have full access to his composter? Nothing can be directly above, not even a lantern otherwise it blocks him from working

I should mention that the kid was made between the farmer and one of the other villagers, not the two caged villagers. Update: Another kid villager was made with the twp caged villagers and it has dropped to the cage.
