In reference to this, Obama once said "all 57 states" instead of "all 57 state primaries". this tiny clip was used for 8 years as "proof" by conservatives to imply that Obama was so addicted to crack cocaine that he couldn't even remember how many states there are. classic rove style BS, in that (a) it takes 100 times longer to debunk it that it does to say it and you sound like a nerd trying to explain the 57 primaries thing, (b) it was an attack on an opponent's strength, (c) it was revenge for 8 years of people making fun of W's frequent gaffes (and going back further, Reagan's and Gerald Ford's)

During Occupy DC, there was a protest (or something) on Capitol Hill, specifically the lawn. Madison Rising showed up and played an acoustic set off to the side. I didn't catch enough of their lyrics to realize that they were so reactionary. I just figured that they were a political band with too many platitudes, but some potential. I wasn't the only one who gave them a good reception. It was a little awkward later, for everyone involved.
