You know what the craziest part of this story is? Prince had a "helper" bring these guys shoes and clothes that conceivably had to fit them so I imagine he had a whole area in Paisley Park with different size clothes and sneakers so he could kit his opponents out and then dominate them in heels and puffy shirts. So I saw Dave Chappelle at First Ave in Minneapolis the summer after Prince passed. He did a residency there for a week straight, and I saw him on the last day of it. At the end of his set, he just talked about his friendship with Prince. He said they tried to get Prince in the sketch, and even though that didn't work out, Prince loved it in the end. According to Dave, Prince said, "It wasn't how good I was, but how bad Charlie was."

dlein93 Prince was always modest about his basketball ability but from the stories I've heard he was a very decent point guard and practiced a lot when he wasn't being a musical genius. I'm not saying he could have declared for the draft but he could definitely hold his own on a court

Pat Tanackered Yes, I’ve heard the same things. There’s even been interviews with his old teachers & coaches from high school. They all said that he would always stay after school either in the music room, or in the gym playing basketball. He even had a custom basketball court built in his house. I think he made the right choice in pursuing music over basketball, though. Lol

What a lot of people didn't know about Prince was that he nearly got a full ride to Michigan State on a basketball scholarship, but the coach didn't like him because he thought he was too small and everyone was looking for the next Magic Johnson or Doctor J. Now if Duke or North Carolina had seen him, (Maybe they did, I never found out.) It would have been a different story and Prince might have been the first guy to make the Rock N' Roll hall of Fame and the NBA hall of fame!

I doubt he'd have been both. If he had made it into the NBA, he most likely wouldn't have put much time or effort into his music (he might've kept at it, but more as a hobby than anything serious). Because his music career took off the way it did, he didn't have to do anything else.

Two greats that are gone now... Charlie is just as talented as his brother and it’s a shame we didn’t see more of him. And Prince... what is there to say about him? He was a genius. I was not a prince fan until i saw him live and to see him play guitar and let himself go to the music. It blew me away.

In-N-Out the two of them are super different. They are talented in different ways. Eddie is a great actor and comedian, while Charlie Murphy was a great writer even writing for his brothers stand up and film screen plays. The difference is that Eddie is super talented in making things big and over the top, while Charlie stayed behind the scenes and worked to make his brother funny and that i think takes a lot of talent. He wrote a few of eddies screenplays and wrote for several comedians. So while not front and center i think he was just as talented.
