Very nice for flats and open water fishing. If you want to fish structure I'd go a little bigger.

i think I'm getting this same reel! thinking of matching it with a st croix avid inshore. do you think 7'6 MH would be too big of a rod?
@CHAPPER157 жыл бұрын
Medium heavy? If you use it for slightly bigger fish with say 30 pound power pro that's a good set up - all depends what you're using it for.

The FK's seem great , especially the 4000 & 5000 : I am in the process of making decisions on which to acquire ... Goosebumps - They look magnificent ! I will purchase about three or four reels !

Nathan Mark lmk how that setup goes bc I plan on getting a 7'6" MH Mojo inshore with either 4000 or else 5000.

@CHAPPER158 жыл бұрын
20 pound Power Pro on the 4000. On a 3000 I usually put 15 pound.

epic I have the same reel just trying to figure out what rod this is, I might go with a medium heavy 7' for it
@CHAPPER158 жыл бұрын
The 4000 can handle heavier line so I like rods 12-20 or around there. I don't use it with lures so casting all day isn't an issue with the heavier rod.

I'm trying to decide between 5000FK and 5000 or 6000 Saragosa. Which would be a better choice for in shore and pier fishing?
@dannybraddy21445 жыл бұрын
I can't vouch for the stradic.... ultimately I went with the saragosa 6000, I absolutely love it for pier and surf... no complaints at all.

i thought this reel was for freshwater , does the stradic has saltwater protection ? do you have any problems with it like corrosion ?
@CHAPPER154 жыл бұрын
Stradics are good for both. I expect to get about 1-2 years of heavy use of 3-4 years of light use from them when in Saltwater. They do need to be taken care of and cleaned well to last. You'll typically hear the bearings start to grind as the first sign of their demise.

Hey, how is your reel holding up? I've had mine for 7 months now and the roller bearing busted, sounds like a sandblaster blasting a frying pan when reeling in.

Thaison Nguyen Easy to repair / How is the hagane gear and aligned system holding up ? What do you use the reel for and how often ?
@Tnguyen-13377 жыл бұрын
I got it looked at, it's because I never oiled it so shame on me. I got it replaced by another one and I'm making sure to oil that one. As for the gears and actual reel, it's the best I've had. I use it mainly for small lure fishing for inshore species, occasionally throwing 1-2 oz lures. I fish about 25 hours a week. I had a Penn Fierce 2 3k before this one but the bail busted when I got a small tarpon.

Thaison Nguyen Do you consider that a 18 to 20 kg ( +- 44 lbs ) game fish requires the 5000 FK And a 30kg ( 66 lbs ) fish requires the 5000 FK ? And do you consider the Shimano Twin Power far better equipped and necessary ? Or would you say the Stradic FK is more than up to the task ? And how would you figure the Stradic ci4+ FB Compares to the FK Series ?
@Tnguyen-13377 жыл бұрын
I have a Stradic Ci4+ that I used along with my 4k FK, same type of fishing that I do with my FK. I find that it's much more fragile, as I can start hearing grinding inside the gears after a few 15-25 pound class fish. It's also because I fished it heavily in saltwater. I would not recommend the Ci4+ if you're fishing for 30~KG fish. If anything, the Ci4+ is great for light tackle fishing. As for the 30KG fish, I would recommend you the Shimano Twin Power rather than the 5k ONLY if you are fishing from shore simply because I don't think it's worth tiring yourself out with the extra weight of the Twin Power if you're on a boat. In my personal opinion, I think it's much much more difficult to land a fish of that caliber on shore, and even more so with the 5k FK. The extra power is worth it if you're on land. Basically, long story short, I would get the Twin Power if I'm fishing from shore (mainly jigging or pitching huge bait) and the FK if I was on a boat. You can get away with the 5k on shore but it's going to be much more challenging, like a lot more challenging. As always, remember to clean your gear after you use it so it can last for years to come. Tight lines brother.

Is the stradic suitable for saltwater¿
@CHAPPER157 жыл бұрын
Oh yes. I tend to put my equipment through a lot and the Stradics have a good life around saltwater.

Why did you kill that fish you murderous bast_rd " Just kiddin' ha ha ... " I see the FK 4000 is breathtakingly brilliant ? Handled that fish easily ? So what's your take on the 4000 vs the 5000 ? And what's your take on the ci4+ fb series versus the FK series : Both are the ones without a reverse switch on the body that i am referring to ... I want to use them for river estuary and river mouth fishing ... I consider that the FK Series are more robust than the ci4+ series Your thoughts would be appreciated ... Nice fish mate ! I am also interested in exactly which rod you used to land this fish please ? Exact make and model etc IT LOOKS JUST RIGHT FOR MY INTENDED PURPOSE ! ! !

Andrew Lines following also, been debating about the FK since it came out. love my 6000FJ , but I'm wanting a lighter and a goto setup bc sometimes the surf setup is heavy and makes my arm fatigue.
@CHAPPER157 жыл бұрын
The CI4 I believe are better for throwing lures. The big advantage is they are a little lighter, so a full day won't wear you out like the heavier FK series. The 4000 is plenty of reel for fish in inshore situations. The advantage of the 5000 is line capacity or when using heavier lines. If you plan on using 20-30 pound braid and don't deal with fish that can run more than 100 yards, the 4000 is all you need.
@andrewlinesjah45387 жыл бұрын
