Great video Glenn. So pleased to hear the intro music is back ❤Autumn walks are my favourite. When you get that first slight nip in the air. Wrapped up and walking to keep warm is much better than flagging because you’re too hot and need shade. Plus you don’t have to take so much water!! 😂

Winter for me is best for me. I come up from Somerset to the Lakes for a week every January and February with mates and / or my wife. Accommodation is at its cheapest, parking is always easy and there is nobody around, perfect! Admittedly the weather can be harsh but we all spend a lot of money on decent kit so let’s get out there and use it! Have just finished the Wainwrights for the second time. Currently trying to persuade my wife to do them all again! Love watching your channel.

Walking in the SPRING of course. Flowers and trees blooming, birds singing and walking in fields and woods. That's what I enjoy. Besides, you have cute knees in your shorts. :o)

If you're interested in a short and informative overview of Cumbria's prehistory, I'd recommend A. M. Ibbotson's book Cumbria's Prehistoric Monuments. He mentions the round burial cairns, the most prominent of which is at the centre of the hillfort. These cairns can date back to 2500 bc. As always thank you for taking us along.

QUESTION: Can ANYONE answer this question please. Black Crag's ability to name peaks that are in the distance is phenomenal. I don't suppose there is an app that can do this? So, I'm standing on one of the fells and recognise a couple of peaks in the distance, but would love to know what the others are. Anyone?

Hi Glenn. I’ve just come back from a week of hiking in the lakes (some of my walks inspired by you 😊) The weather was just as your video showed, bright crisp days with lots of sunshine. I actually enjoyed these winter walks more than summer walking .

Hi Glenn, Our favourite season is definitely Autumn and Winter. Just came back from a lovely walk in Lyme Park hills and it was absolutely blowing like a tornado! We was being pushed by it!! It was dark when coming down and very errie and atmospheric. My wife, bless her, does incredibly well, considering she gets leg weakness and can fall. She watches you Glenn and gets inspired to walk up there again. Thank you for the brilliant videos. Love watching them. 👍👍🙏🙏

Ay up mate. What a beautiful video 😍 looks stunning with the frost on the sunrise. I’ve just got back from a week in north wales, did Snowdon again and it was snowy up there but with a gorgeous sun over the peaks. Love winter hiking if wearing the right clothes but can definitely get a bit nippy. I’m hoping to do some of the walks I’ve seen in your videos. You always inspire me and when I can’t get out myself I love nothing more than watching your videos. It keeps me sane. So a big thank you buddy for always taking the time to do these and I hope you do them for many more years to come. Never stop being you and please, never stop talking and being as enthusiastic as you are, it wouldn’t be the same watching them. And I agree, a good climb and getting breathless does wonders for the heart even though at the time it feels like we might die 😂 I’m 51 now and in good shape 👏🏻 I put it down hugely to all the hikes and climbing I do. I love to see the beauty through others eyes when I’m not out there myself so it’s always a pleasure watching. It’s the best mental health medicine on the planet. Look forward to the next one as always 😊

My preference is definitely for Summer. Get to the Lakes for about 7.30am from Durham for a long day in the hills. Yes it makes for a sweaty ride home but they are days you never forget. Actually one such day like that I'm planning for next summer is Carrock Fell, High Pike, Knott & Great Calva. Can't wait.

I was sure I had seen one of your previous videos where you visited the Mill Inn, maybe I am mixing it up with my own experiences, your videos do bring back so many memories. The Carrock fell area has been mined since Roman times as Norman said and some of the mines were still active in the 1970's. Really interesting area to walk across and really enjoyed today's walk. Thanks as usual for taking us with you.

This fort is at least iron age. The presence of a neolithic stone hand axe recovered on the surface here suggests previous occupations, and it was likely used/modified by multiple groups til the romans destroyed it, buncha jerks. Love to see the history bits in your video!

By the way Glenn, as regards walking boots, me and my wife have always worn Karrimor boots. I know we don't walk in as much terrain as you do and definitely not the same distance, but we've never had a problem with walking in all weathers wearing them. Not bad for boots costing only £95.00 for mine and £55.00 for my wifes. They last us years. 👍👍

Since I just had a mild heart attack, had a stent put it, I think I'll have to ask my Cardiologist if I climbed a mountain, would it be a "plaque buster"? Your heavy breathing kind of scared me. Sure I wouldn't be able to do that. You evidently are in great shape.

I hope you do well after your stent, I’m 62 and last year I was not in a good place, I was obese and metabolically inflamed. I took a decision to change my way of life. I cut out sugars and carbs, stopped cooking in “veg” oils and eat protein and fats. I’ve gone from 15.5 stones to 11.2 my bp is back to 125/70 it was 160/90, my resting pulse is 53. I am aerobically fit and I have a muscled body that I am now proud of. I am now walking all these fells, did striding edge, swirrel and cat bells a few weeks ago, I do 20000 steps a day and lift weights. Try it, it may work for you. 👍🥩🥓🍳🐏🐟

I've been on a mission to find a lightweight shoe that covers most of my little adventures because I hate hard soles. I love the Xero Excursion but they are way too hot in warmer weather. I tried out Innov8 Trailflys at the end of the summer (having been a firm fan of the F195's back in the day) and promptly went over on my ankle half way up Castle crag ripping a bunch of ligaments (not fun walking back out to Rosthwaite) ruling out trail runners and forcing me back into my Scarpa Terra GTX which has been my sturdy boot of choice for years. But I've just caved and bought some Vivo Tracker ATs, they are super comfy and with the thermal insole surprisingly warm, I did a small 4 mile mooch out the other day in subzero temps and my feet were toasty warm.
