Hi Murray, yet another superb video that highlights your wonderful production skills, as well as the physicality of it all. On a week when the B.B.C. have announced the closure of The Adventure Show, ( I did miss Cameron McNeish ) you prove that having a team of production staff both on site and in the studio is not necessary. Your knowledge, enthusiasm, and determination bring the highlands to life. I often recite the poem Sid Scroggie wrote at the end of his book " The Cairngorms, Scene and Unseen ". His poem starts , I will attempt the Capel track - - - , Well worth a read. Once again thank you for posting.

Oh no ! I didn't know that the Adventure Show was closing, gutted. I have always wanted it broadcast here in England as it is so good. One more reason we need to abolish the licence fee then.

How a simple thing as a kick stand can make your day lol, loved this video which brought back some great memories of tomitoul, booked a hotel up there maybe 15 years ago, think it was the only there as I remember, old stone built hotel, stayed in the hotel one night and then spent 7 days just hiking around the Cairngorms national park and various places with my golden retriever, amazing place and views and great memories. Thank you

Excellent video Murray. I admire your tenacity and spirit on what was a very hard journey. Some of the footage especially with the Drone is very beautiful and I know how difficult it is to keep stopping and filming in difficult conditions, or in any conditions if it comes to that. I have one or two observations as well, first of all I see you have no mudguards and for me if it is wet there's nothing worse than the water getting thrown upon your legs and feet. Also back in the day when I was Cycle touring I never put anything on my back since had to be somewhere on the bike that you could put all the kit .By large I'd be in favour of front wheel panniers as well rather than stashing stuff on the handlebars. My recent electric bike from Estarli has a fitted kickstand which is very useful, in fact the latest design has the stand tucked away inside the frame so my size 10s don't hit it. Also nowadays I find I can manage all my filming with a drone, mini three pro, and a GoPro 11. In fact I hardly pick up my big SLR anymore at all and I see you have it strapped to your chest and having to cover it up in the wet. As a backup I've also got my iPhone 15 pro. Talking of the Drone you seem to have caught a lot of footage and I'm wondering how you manage with the battery storage. The three batteries that come with the mini three, particularly cold weather, would probably only last me, one hour flying time. I'm watching quite a few videos of adventures in the hills and I have to say the quality of your video production and presentation is one of the best. So stay safe and I look forward to more adventures.

I enjoyed this film Murray as I did the same route this summer. It’s a toughie and I’m glad it wasn’t cold and snowy when I did it. That second day with all those stream crossings was gruelling. We pedalled for 12hrs and got to the White Bridge. The whole thing took us 2.5 days. A great little cycle. 🙏

It is a fantastic route - as you say maybe better in the longer days of summer (when dry as there are so many streams to cross ! lol ) the inner loop looks brutal too !!
@kevinw11292 ай бұрын
@ It rained a lot for us. The streams were in spate and my friend and her bike nearly got washed away until I went back in and rescued her. 😳 The inner loop is unrideable - there are some funny KZbin videos with people cursing all the way round. 🤣🤣

Hi there Murray…first n foremost…HAPPY HOGMANAY TU YUS and greetings from England. I’ve just discovered your channel and also subscribed to your X too…sadly, bloody hate Musk!!! Anyways this was a wonderful post so much detail provided and so much to consider for my own interrogation too. I just wished that we had the same powers over landowners in England as you do North of and not just into land and access rights but to animal torture too, such as the snaring laws just passes. This post reminded me of my own adventures in the ‘Gorms climbing and walking over many years past in my youth. I love this part of Scotland. My climbing exploits have somewhat diminished over the years but my cycling hasn’t…I’ve notched up over 500k in miles since 1986 and I’m getting into more gravel and MTBing lately so this post is very interesting. I’m looking forward to catching up and watching your historic vids too now. Once again thanks for an inspirational piece. Take care ….Bessie’s…Ron

Terrific views. I go motorcycle camping, always take a roll of insulation tape and some zip ties for things coming loose. Also, for biking, they sell neck gaitors in thin material that you can pull up over your lower face in the cold.
