I really am paying for college when all thats provided is textbook chapters to read and learn by. I don't effectively learn that way and my attention span is nonexistent, making it worse. I appreciate people like you that are great teachers and provide it to the world. Thank you on behalf of all college students coming here!

Thing is that when you go to college yet just paying for the brand, not the content, is just like when you buy a product in the market sometimes yer just paying for the nice envelope of this one but is pretty much the same quality of other one that comes by in a generic product, let me tell you Some professors that give classes in those fancy big time universities do actually teach in community colleges as well so dont let the name of the school fool ye, is not the School name or pretty installations that make you learn, ye learn cuz ye got the disposition and talent

After watching this lecture and attending my AP Macro course, I think it's safe to say Economics is one of my favorite subjects. Hopefully, your lectures and my AP Macroeconomics course will continue to be as amazing as this. This may be what will motivate me to study Economics in college. Thank you so much Dr. Azvedo! Read para from book ones or twice Then Watch this lovely guy , Everything crystal clear I am glad that I found you Because on my own I thought equality implies allocation of scarce resources uniformly but it is incentives by means of taxation from productive element provided to weaker sections As key phrase is uniform distribution of economic prosperity 🎉 [Edit] But now I think about it Uniform distribution of scare resources might reduce size of pie as is taxation But also better the economic prosperity of weaker sections Don't know both sound good to me

Like you said there is no such thing as a free lunch, there is always an opportunity cost associated with it. However in the case of offers like buy 1 get 1 free, you get the second product at zero cost. So how can your statement be termed as true?
@DrAzevedoEcon2 жыл бұрын
Good question. You can’t get the second, without buying the first…so it definitely has a cost. What did you have to give up to get the second? It would be the money (and effort) it took to get the first.

They're close. Number 3 is that people respond to incentives, while number 4 is more about how they respond. You could lump them into one discussion if you wanted.

What is difference between “opportunity cost” and “tradeoff”?
@DrAzevedoEcon2 жыл бұрын
The idea behind a tradeoff is simply that you have to give something up to get something. The opportunity cost would be the amount you have to give up in the tradeoff. For example, if you purchase a pizza for $10, you are trading purchasing power for pizza. That's the tradeoff. The opportunity cost would be that getting the pizza involves you giving up $10 worth of purchasing power....that's the actual opportunity cost. I hope that helps.
