Many of these problems are due to careless forklift drivers. I used to work in a shop where we repaired trailer damage from forklifts. More than once we repaired the same trailers two days in a row. Forklift driver responsibility is most important.

Nah it's usually jackass drivers in too big of a hurry. Any driver that comes in gives me his keys and gets a Glad Hand on his air lines.

Gladhand locks are another good way to make sure the driver does not drive away prematurely and it also prevents trailer creep as the wheels are locked.

don't forget that there are devices for the front of trailer to keep the trailer from too much weight in the front section of trailer

What if you have a lift gate. Then it is worthless

I've been pulling a 53' reefer for over 25 years. Almost everywhere I go, requires the tandems slid to the rear. I have never heard of the tip, the front end going to the ground. But, it is impossible when there is a truck hooked to it or a jack stand under the nose. Lastly, most can be prevented by forklift operators acting responsibly. The video is a commercial for dock lock. And not well prepared.

All of this is mostly preventable. Air locks, nose jacks, more than one wheel chock, paying attention to the dock plate and trailer as you enter and exit...don't fucking power brake in the trailer

Why are the tandems forward?
@BigLisaFan5 жыл бұрын
A lot of new drivers do not have a clue how to slide tandems. I was doing it as they were far too forward and one of our new drivers asked me what I was doing. Kind of says it all I think.

Never load or unload trailers with the tandems slid foward.

Also a lot of dumb drivers drive with them all the way back and wonder why they can't turn
