Thank you for researching and creating this. I found it very interesting. Folk tales were not passed down orally in my family, and I wish they had been. I do have one Russian folk tale book from my childhood, though, and I love the stories. (I have that oracle deck, too. I hope you like it as much as I do.) :)

I think more people would join the clergy, hangout in trees, and offer to improve the harvest if they thought a bunch of determined beautiful woman were going to roll up around until the spirits were pleased, the buzz from them wore off or they regain consciousness 🤪. Remember, history is the propaganda of the victor, folklore is the history of the people, reflective of the times they lived through which far exceed the whims of the day. There is definitely overlap in cultures. We in America grew up with Grimm's Fairy Tales and later Walt Disney but both, former in particular have origins in Eastern Europe, specifically Russia. The Grimm Brothers went there to look for stories. The 3 Little Bears comes to mind. A lot of these stories are to teach children to behave. Germany has Krampus. I've got Irish, Scottish, Germany and now according to Ancestry Pirate blood I mean Cornish(pirate accent). Instead of being an orange & green problem, on Halloween Night I will dress up and even play certain Bach pieces, and some orestrations depicting a witch's sabbath of course. Why not? It's suppose to be a day to remember the dead. In Bach's time they accused him of being in league with the devil because of the use of dual melodies. I'd say he was deeply spiritual as most of his 20 something kids didn't even reach adulthood. Some of my family lived not far from where he lived and were Lutherans. All cultures have or had superstitions. Never place a watch on its face, no new shoes on a table(bad luck dead were waked on tables), never rock an empty rocking chair etc. It's more about being mindful. Season of the witch has yet to begun. It's quite a happening at my haunted house.
