the panel with wazukyan carrying belaf on his shoulders was the part that probably made me feel the saddest. it's kind of amazing how tsukushi managed to make me feel so attached to these characters i'd only known for a little bit, but the context really twists the knife. we have belaf who's so incredibly guilt ridden over eating irumyuui's children - even if it WAS justified for the sake of his survival - that he's basically begging for death, for wazukyan and the rest of the ganja corps to leave him behind. and then we've got wazukyan telling him that they're not going to leave him behind and that they'll find a way out of this. it's also a callback to chapter 48 where wazukyan teases belaf about him coming off as cocky - and as someone who really appreciated the little bits of the bond we saw from these two, it really just broke my heart. :c this was a really heavy chapter and i just ended up feeling horrible for everyone in the ganja corps AND irumyuui. they were all just trying to survive and reach their goal of finding the fabled golden city, and the environment screwed them over and pushed them to making decisions they might not have made under normal circumstances. say what you will about the actions taken, but i think part of the emotional impact is that they were just so desperate to survive. ok i'm getting off topic so in regards to the actual video: i think this was really well done! the background music was fitting, i like the little animated portions, and the voices you selected for the characters were really fitting, especially belaf's. (ok mayyyybe i'm biased because belaf is my favorite of the three sages, but still). overall i REALLY liked the way you handled this chapter.

@@Elmithian I don't believe they will censor too much though tbh. Considering its age limit is MA15+ and the first season had set that up, I do think it'll strive to maintain the disturbing visuals we continue to see throughout the manga. The biggest example I can give is Mitty's transformation sequence. Visually that didn't hold back, and even later in ep13 we are shown Mitty's entire back-area blown to smithereens against a wall (intestines and all~) when bondrewd explains her immortality. They will likely do smaller things to ensure its fair for viewage but I'm rather confident that they'll be able to pull it off. Especially if Akihito assists in directing once again

Oh snap! Good to see you here Sklent! Thanks so much, I'm glad you liked its implementation! This "adaptation" is very personal, hence why the tracks I use are from series I personally engage with a lot. By using tracks from various sources, it also helps to redefine the "manga animated series" as a completely different way of experiencing made in abyss (as opposed to reading the manga for yourself or watching the anime) if that makes sense :)

You’re likely conditioned to Akihito’s writing now. When reading through this manga you’ve been exposed to some pretty messed up things. You have likely become accustomed to them now
@rosesweetcharlotte2 жыл бұрын
Nope. This for me was where I had to nope out. It's too much. The idea of just being broken down to your most basic function as a person, then having your babies ripped away from you repeatedly. Or seeing your child be twisted and turned into this horrific thing and essentially being forced to devour your grandchildren for food pur of fear of what will happen if you aren't there.

I love the content! I was trying to do a similar thing myself but having issues narrowing down a process (different series altogether, Berserk). Just curious, what tools are you using to make this? :)
@TheMickellPickell5 жыл бұрын
Oh cool! I'm happy to hear that you're considering this type of editing, its time consuming without a doubt but really fun and rewarding. So first and foremost: Photoshop - I cut out each panel and save them as PNGS. Then choose certain panels I want to animate and separate the image I want to animate from the background. Then to fill the missing space in the background I use the Spot Healing Brush tool to clean it. Adobe After Effects - This I use after all the photoshop work is out the way. I use the wigglerama tool to make the text float about and use the puppet tool to animate the still images (the ones I choose to separate the image from the background of). Premiere Pro - After all the panels are cut and certain frames have motion to them I go ballistic on the edit in premiere. I add music, sound, inverted colour, all of that is done in premiere. If you have money to spend I really recommend getting the adobe package as you'll get all these software together. Though it is pricey I do believe it is worth it. Hope this helped! c:

Mickell Pickell i don’t understand the nature of the eggs, and why everybody went mad, and what their wishes are, i know everything isn’t answered yet, but this chapter was pretty confusing, And a lot will probably be open to interpretation
@TheMickellPickell5 жыл бұрын
@@Shallabais100 Yeah I think you're right on the money with the idea of interpretation being a driving storytelling factor in this chapter. From my understanding the madness came from the suffering the ganja corps went through. Forced to drink a water that causes their bodies to become stone and eating the children Irummyui produces. Not to mention being within the abyss has been proven to drive one's mind to insanity. Their situation was about surviving, not living. They found salvation by giving their bodies up, being free from the limitation of humans, The wish is very likely that Irummyui wanted to either "become a mother", "Give birth" or "never be abandoned again". Because as we know Irummyui mentions in previous chapters that because she was written off as one who cannot breed, her original family deemed her a sacrifice to the abyss. And seeing as she kept re-producing children, its likely very closely tied to one of those three. The egg without a doubt is the most confusing element. Though from my understanding it works like a double edged sword that acts on naivety. It'll give you your wish but alter your fate. The only reason why its likely better suited to children is because their dreams are easily manipulated. Because children are naive and don't understand what exactly their wishing for whilst adults will likely question what their dream is over and over and over again. That's from my understanding :)

Mickell Pickell very interesting, i understand it a lot more now, feel like this arc is building up to something big, but still no clue where it is headed, it’s easy to forget what’s happend before as chapters are released so rarely

@TheMickellPickell5 жыл бұрын
I don't know if I agree. Though I understand how you feel. I think that this ark is vital to the development of our 3 main characters and is also a great way to flesh out the 6th layer. Reg and Riko are forced now to make a grand decision that will likely change their lives forever. Also, it was mentioned by Riko that her main goal wasn't really to see her mother again, it feels like an *excuse* when in reality she really just wants to see what's at the bottom of the abyss. Made in Abyss has never really been a straightforward story. There are PLENTY of things we still don't know because Akihito deliberately refuses to give us answers. Like whose Ozen and Lyza's white whistles made from? Who wrote the letter? What is the birthday curse and can it be resolved? What did Leader want from Ozen? What are all the praying skeletons about? Why are monsters appearing on layers they shouldn't be? *These are not answered to keep us longing for the end where we will get nothing BUT these answers* No hate btw, this is just how I feel. But I understand why this can feel frustrating.

Do you know when is chapter 52 coming out?
@TheMickellPickell5 жыл бұрын
Well Akihito releases his chapters on 10ths, 20ths or 30ths. Be this the case I’m either expecting it to be the 30th of May or the 10th of June. BUT! Could be longer or short than that, those are my estimates considering his consistency recently

where do you get the voice clips from? especially wazukyan
@TheMickellPickell5 жыл бұрын
Good question! So I basically rip audio lines from anime’s I’ve seen where there is no music and little background noise. I pick a va that works for a character and stalk their anime roles then watch the anime in search of random lines of dialogue. Then I throw them into the video providing the lines support what is written on the manga panels. Wazukyan - Elias from Ancient Magus Bride Veko - Lilith from Trinity Seven Belafu - Edward from Fullmetal Alchemist 😁😁
