I wanted to dramatise events present in the panels by adding small pinches of animation alongside the sounds I personally thought would match the scene if it's ever reincarnated as an anime adaptation.

Something I really liked about this chapter was the way Faputa moved around in the background and in the panels, giving her a really unique mobility across panels that really captures her energy, specially in this calm before the storm moments when they explore the Abyss and be in awe of it, It was really neat how you also captured that energy with your work on this chapter. I am really liking the little elements here and there of these chapters that start to shape a bit the important elements for the new arc, lets see what Akihito has in store for us in the next one.

I'm glad that she wasn't written off as "only needing to exist so that she could be killed off to allow Riko to press onwards" but instead she is now an on-going character who can heavily interact with the team (disregarding using her to unlock Reg's powers of course).

I don't think I've ever been as mesmerized by a fictional setting as much as I am with the Abyss, there really i nothing like it. And that's just one of the things about this series that has me so hooked. There's Riko who I just adore with all my heart and so badly wanna see succeed, Reg who's slowly becoming one of my favorite Deuteragonists ever, being an amazing contrast to Riko. While Riko looks at all the horrors and inhumane things committed against the humans that challenge it with fascination at best and disinterest at worst, Reg looks at it with sorrow and so badly wishes to do something about it. And then there's Riko being a simple human who doesn't have much time left to live yet knows more about the Abyss than anyone else in the team and always faces it with pure bravery (which shows signs of being a facade) while Reg is a (potentially) immortal and borderline indestructible robot with devastating firepower yet knows nothing about his own past let alone the abyss itself and is always on edge whenever confronted with the unknown. And don't even get me started on the antagonists. This series has had only 2 of em (3 if you count Ozen) and it might be the best antagonist line-up I've seen in anime/manga since Hunter x Hunter and Attack on Titan. There isn't anything to say about Bondrewd that hasn't already been said, he is the most iconic character in the series for a good reason, and then you have Faputa in which Tsukushi the goddamn mad lad somehow made an antagonist even better than Bondrewd with her. and then you got the numerous mysteries of this series that just keep piling up: Why does Lyza want Riko to come to the bottom of the Abyss? Who created Reg? What's in 2,000 years? What's the birthday death disease? What are Srajo's and Wakuna's goals? Yet you just know they'll be answered in a satisfying way, like puzzle pieces that fully click together. I adore this series to death, this is a classic in the making I can feel it.

Thats the power of Akihito sensei's work! Its one of the rare few titles I know in modern fantasy literature that poses an incredible amount of questions and very few answers, yet, you somehow don't feel frustrated with the lack of clarity on certain subjects. Its a very hard feat to keep readers engaged in mystery without dropoff, yet the core fanbase from this series is very embracive of exactly that! Oh man, this chapter was amazing on so many levels. So many bombshell reveals. Riko's title being the "Sovereign of Children," the extent of Abyss's warping of time, Riko being able to communicate with Prushka through her dreams, Prushka being able to use Riko's body. So much happened in this chapter and I love it. And Riko has finally taken back the center spotlight after so long and it's about time. She had so much development this chapter, which was so great to see. However, I can see the death flags for her and her up above growing exponentially, and I'm not ready for it. F in the chat for Nat. He never got to confess his love for Riko before she took her final dive. Also, I can only imagine the sakuga that awaits us for scenes like the turtle scene. It looked so cinematic, even in manga form. Imagine just how gorgeous it'll when it's animated. Imagine if they use the film screen dimensions. S2 going's to be so amazing man. It's animation. It's music. It's all peak fiction.

The Prushka being able to "use riko's senses" is super interesting to me. I wonder exactly what the limitations of that are? Plenty of juicy information for us delvers this chapter! I can't wait to see the turtles animated by an actual studio. The manga looks beautiful and I can only imagine how brilliant these badboys would look like fully animated with colour and sound.

What I love more about this chapther was the interactons between Faputa and Nanachi, I didnt belive that Faputa could fit so well in the team, I hope soon can make a beautiful relationship with Riko. But the elephant in the room... of course... was the corpse... I dont want to analize to much because we dont have any information yet but... lets just say that... Faputa represents exactly my reaction with that... it scares me... Actually, I do have something to say about the corpse. And its that how Riko almost felt hypnotized by... a preasure... maybe that "thing" contains more darkness that we thought... But, lets not lose hope for that! I really love Faputa and Nanachi's immediate chemistry. From Faputa being a bit envious of her fluffiness to now being super embracive of it, is so fitting for her character (Faputa has always been a bit indecisive with how she truly feels, this is just the icing on the cake!) The Corpse without question stood out this chapter. Curious to see what impact it will have on the remainder of the story. Akihito isn't the kind of writer to introduce things and never follow through with them without reason. So keen to see this uncharted territory explored! Thanks for watching as always Saxi

I think the dead delver may be nat from the start of the manga, since time passes much slower on the 6th layer, i've always wondered what happened to the kids at the orphanage, his hair, clothes and hat look a whole lot like the ones nat had when he was a red whistle, I know it's a pretty generic delver outfit but the fact that they mentioned the surface, how times passes slower and focused so much on which group the delver must have been I think they may be hinting that this was Nat looking for riko on the 6th layer, or just exploring with a white whistle group, thinking riko was already dead years ago

Incredibly interesting theory! However I'm not so certain on the passing of time being like that. From what I understand time in the abyss isn't inherently "Sped up" it merely "Feels different". Ozen talks about how delvers often return from the abyss believing it to has been only a few weeks when in reality months have passed but those delvers have aged like normal. However I could be wrong. The abyss is a strange place with plenty of unknown things! Lets not forget that the abyss does alter people's very being (Prushka being unable to stop the curls in her hair is a good example) so you could be right. I like the theory :) It would explain why Riko was also so captivated by the corpse.

Something tells me that the birthday death curse is pointed out thanks to Riko's case being dead baby resurrected back to life. That curses in abyss in layers can CHANGE. At least that's my theory.

I've wondered if those two things are connected. It would make sense as to why Lyza went back down into the abyss. If she brought with her, the very being that brought about the birthday death curse, wouldn't it be natural for the parent to do everything she can to save her child and her home? Who knows tho~!

The question: What if the birthday death curse persists in this current 2000 year era or that's recent added since Riko is brought back to the top level as resurrected baby, the patient zero of the curse have unaware spread the curse into others in her time?

It might take a few chapters; from Tsukushi's latest art stream we're going to be heading back to Orth for a little bit. But I checked with a large scale of the map and compared the last panel where the area is named, "Cliff of Emperor Mitty" and it looks like they are on the very edge of the top of the seventh layer!

Its a good question! The implication is that it was the Nishagora member that bit into his leg, but that could also just be an intentional misleading Akihito planned. All we know is that Cravali died due to the rotting injury in his leg, lack of water and broken bones. Who or what tore him up, isn't certain just yet.

Does this time dilation thing have something to do with why humans cant get out of the abyss? Why bad things happen to your body if you try to climb a set of stairs? Because this makes humans age very quickly?

The biggest reason why people can't seem to escape the abyss is due to the curse. By climbing up stairs, you're ascending, which puts you at the forefront of the curse. The time dilation while incredibly suspicious, hasn't seemed to have killed anyone (well, there are no records of this yet), but who knows! I'm sure we will get more insight on how time flows in future chapters.

Riko never lost her arm, it was severely damaged but through Nanachi's treatment it was able to recover. Her ability to completely use her hand gradually comes back over time. A lot of rehabilitation went on during their time in the 4th layer before departing into the 5th.
