This was a pretty intense day of van life! Spontaneous Tasmanian adventures are the best! [Get a 1 year supply of Vitamin D3 & K2 + 5 individual travel packs for FREE with your first purchase, click: www.drinkAG1.c... ]
We were worried Tasmania might not live up to the hype, but this 'ordinary' day of van life became our favourite day in Tasmania so far! From the 127 year old steam train to the rickety mountain ridge walk, horsetail falls and then the mountain roads of 99 bends to Australias deepest lake, it was a pretty special day! Whether you're planning your own van life journey in Tasmania or just love to watch travel vlogs, this video will give you a taste of the unique experiences you can have in this beautiful part of Australia. Don't forget to hit the like button and subscribe for more van life adventures!

⤈ WHO WE ARE ⤈
We are Philly and Keely and we live full time in our tiny home on wheels Martha. After building our DIY home in a Citroen Relay camper we spent a year living on the streets of London before quitting our jobs only to be met with lockdown. Then we took our van further than she had ever been before to the very beautiful Turkey. Enroute, we stopped off in Spain for a few weeks where we experienced every van lifers worst nightmare, we were robbed and they stole all valuables in our van. But then we were back on our feet, fully MOT’d and back on the road through Europe before we experienced another vanlife nightmare... our van caught fire!! After the trauma of that we had a massive change of plan and made our way to Japan. We enjoyed a three-month Japanese Adventure and then got back to Martha for some new European Adventures. After an incredible three-month Scottish road trip, we have now packed up our van and are heading to Australia for a new van life adventure!

Back in 1997 I was making my way to the west coast via a non standard route and as I pasted the last fuel station for quite a while, a few km on the road I found a guy carrying an empty jerry can. This guy was a French tourist that had hired a diesel camper and didn't realise that he was almost out of diesel so he parked before running out and was making his way back to the fuel station. I gladly gave him a lift back to the fuel station and back to the camper! I told him that he was lucky that I was driving this way because it's not a popular route and he wouldn't have got to the fuel station before it closed!

I walked along that train track about 30 years ago when it was overgrown and unused. I lived in Queenstown at the time. It was an old train line made in about 1896 to deliver copper ore to the port of Strahan. When I lived there, the copper mine was operating. The hills then were completely bare and locals would go up and pull out the bushes growing as they liked their bare hills. Those bare hills started then green movement.

New to your channel. My wife & I are from Melbourne. Did the Europe back packing trip in 1983/4. Came back and was asked too many times "When are you going overseas again?" I had a cousin living in Howrah at the time so (before children came along) in 1986 spent our annual leave in the island state. We toured via a large motorcycle (the same one we went around Europe in 1983/4). Later an opportunity came up through my employer to work in Devonport for at least three years and with all me doing at least 10 hour days plus long commutes working and living in Tasmania seemed ideal. Then came the recession of the early 1990s and I was retrenched with the option of being paid to go back to Melbourne. It took me a night to change my wife's opinion to come over so when she told me that she would not go back we made Tassie our home. No Regrets.

What a ripper of a day!!!!! And stunning weather. Now your getting to see why it's etched in my brain 51 years later. Yes Philly I too get zapped and certain electrical appliances I get the feels from. And ask hubby feel that and he can't feel it. It's to do with body frequency. And is worse if there is wind about as we become charged by it. I was told it's because your wearing nylon but it happens with wearing cotton as well. But synthetic fibres heighten the charge for sure. Have fun guys your travelling in paradise. Ppl under rate Tasmania but it is truly beautiful

It's more than likely a combination of either your shoes and the clothes you wear. Polyester and non rubber sole shoes will cause shocks. You can buy an anti static spray from coles/woolies which will stop that. Spray it onto your clothes before you leave for the day. Also check what shoes you're wearing and moisturise your hands after washing them will help too

Yep, ever since i was young i've received shocks from touching any metal. What I also have is very fine hair that is very very static. I assume it's connected in some way. I have to have a strip of rubber fitted to my back bumper to help eliminate shocks off the car. When I was a student nurse we used to have nylon blankets on the beds and all the beds had a metal base. I used to get shocked every time i made a bed. One time the nylon blanket flipped up and hit my eye. It shot the white bright red. I've broken loads of hairdryers too. I sympathise with Philly.

I loved your video so much. It's great to see that part of Tassie. After watching this, I'm feeling like I must take off and have a good look around Tas. I don't know if it's because of the time of year, with a low sun, but the colours in Tassie look so unique, compared to the rest of Australia. It was like looking at 1970s photography, or is that your editing?. That little steam train experience must have been nice - 120 yrs old, beautiful. I'm learning more about Tassie from you both than I have in a lifetime of living here. So thank you, and I am so looking forward to the rest of your travels here. Queenstown is very barren, something to do with mining processes that permanently burnt and destroyed the vegetation, I think it was the mining tailings. Take care, stay safe!! Again, just love this video. xxx.

You came up on my feed in your last episode and decided to check you guys out, probably because you are visiting my island home. I'm so glad I did. Really enjoying your content. If you want to see an amazing creature called an Eastern Quoll in the wild here, there is a camp in the NE, at Mathinna called Griffin Park. Of a night, these amazing carnivorous animals come, and they are incredible to see. Looking forward to watching you both some more as you discover the magic of this incredible Island.

Another great video guys! Tasmania is awesome. I remember seeing Tasmanian devils there but they were in a wildlife sanctuary. My partner and I were heading off to see some historic ruins and stopped at a cafe that also sold antiques. The view was amazing and over looked a lake with people fishing. It was so serene we lost our enthusiasm to drive on and ended up staying to polish off a nice bottle of wine. Salamanca markets in Hobart were also fascinating. Re: that pic you took of the possum, they are normally very shy and won't approach you, but I too wandered thru the Fitzroy gardens once, where you took that pic and the possums came right up to us. I can tell you they normally don't like interacting with humans, but as that park is near a bunch of restaurants, I guess they figure it's worth the risk to get Pizza 😂 Have fun! 😊

Love that train! 1896 - a good year, at least as far as I'm concerned, cos my grandad was born then... we've got long generational gaps on my dad's side of things. The struggle is real, but this video is like crazy-relief and very uplifting! Cheers, me'dears! PS - Dingo's got barn door aerodynamics, so uses waaaay more fuel battering through the air at highway speeds. 😁👍

Hi guys I finally got internet for long enough to binge watch most of your Australian travels so far and you are doing amazing things. I have been having problems with my internet since the cyclone hit Magnetic Island but hopefully what I have got will get me through until they upgrade sooner rather than later. How much longer have you got in our wonderful country before you have to depart 6 months is just not long enough but I do understand that you miss your family and friends. I have been to Tasmania twice 7 weeks all up and you are showing me places that we didn’t get to see. We went to Port Arthur and Bruny Island and up the East Coast across the Top and down the West Coast up and down the middle and went into as many side places that we could but as usual not enough time. Lots of Love and prayers 😊🏝🦋💖🦮🙏🏻 Safe Travels

Love your channel. Fun loving couple. Lots of ups and downs over the months, but hang in there. The good outweighs the bad. Thanks for sharing your van-life adventures. I’m sending a link to another couple’s van-life adventures., by Snow & Curt. They’ve been doing van life for about 5 yrs and have had all lot of similar experiences to you over the years, such as breakdowns, thefts, and so on but they keep on going. This link is a clip about an attack on their van while they were sleeping, by a crowbar wielding assailant, and what saved them. You might want to consider this safety tip from their experience. They’ve been living in their van for about five years, and are planning to travel around the world for another five years. They’ve been through the US, Central and South America, and then shipped their van from Brazil to Belgium and are traveling through Europe They did this last Christmas in France, then headed south in search of sunny, warmer weather, in Spain, Italy and so on. Currently they are in Albania for Carnival. Anyway, they have a lot of good tips on van-life. They also travel with two beautiful cats, G-Money and Vanna. Snow and Curt are in their early fifties, and are such a nice, fun loving couple. They have done a fantastic job sharing their video adventures with their followers, learning as they go. Much Respect to all you brave van-lifers for your sharing your lives with all of us. Blessings to all of you. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJevkKyDm7aBsKssi=iWAUDkqDTrL-QtTs
