We Switched Vans... FULL OF REGRET (Australia to UK)

Swapping our tiny van in Australia for van life in the UK has been harder than we thought! The last six months of full time van life in Australia has been full of highs and lows, but the hopeful anticipation of being reunited with our long term home Martha was quickly squashed with reality of what abandoning a van for six months of Irish winters can do. Honestly we kind of regret leaving Australia, but the time had come, so we will have to knuckle down and get Martha livable again!

⤈ WHO WE ARE ⤈
We are Philly and Keely and we live full time in our tiny home on wheels Martha. After building our DIY home in a Citroen Relay camper we spent a year living on the streets of London before quitting our jobs only to be met with lockdown. Then we took our van further than she had ever been before to the very beautiful Turkey. Enroute, we stopped off in Spain for a few weeks where we experienced every van lifers worst nightmare, we were robbed and they stole all valuables in our van. But then we were back on our feet, fully MOT’d and back on the road through Europe before we experienced another vanlife nightmare... our van caught fire!! After the trauma of that we had a massive change of plan and made our way to Japan. We enjoyed a three-month Japanese Adventure and then got back to Martha for some new European Adventures. After an incredible three-month Scottish road trip, we have now packed up our van and are heading to Australia for a new van life adventure!

As I sit here enjoying a Geelong coffee (sorry Keely) I had a sad moment for you when you said Goodbye to Dingo. Bangkok looked like a great time and such a contrast to land back in Ireland to what I always imagine the weather is like LOL!. That mould was hectic.....wouldn't get that in a Toyota 😉. Hey guys, absolutely loving your content. I’ll be honest I only found your videos last week as you posted a Tasmania video and I was intrigued as I live in tas and I’m now hooked. I’ve now watched all your KZbin adventures in a week and I’m hanging for more lol. One thing is please please please come back to tas. There is so much more you have missed. Yeah we did leave our windows ajar to help ventilation, and all the same measures we took when we left it in Romania, so really shocked by how bad it was. Apparently the wettest winter in decades in Ireland, so just alot of moisture in the air 💔

You will beat the mould, next time you store the van get some container desiccants will probably cost c€100 but will prevent mould in the van. They are designed for shipping containers to prevent mould on months long shipping journeys. .

White vinegar is great for getting rid of mold on pretty much everything. You can add some essential oil and dilute a bit with water, too. I know it looks bad, but I've dealt with similar situations, and it's been alright in the end. ❤ I wish you the best!
