If Sanguinius did come back, the whole Imperium will surely erupted in a frenzy mode. Pretty sure almost every imperial agencies and institutions are ready to pledge loyalty and service to the Angel of the Emperor, no questions asked. As for space marines chapter, I don't see any objections from them taking orders from the Great Angel. Sanguinius is just that awesome.. As compared to Papa smurf, there was a conversation about the stories regarding the presence of a primarch that was being exaggerated and papa G told him all of that is not true. Imagine the scenery in Terra if Sanguinius returns.. every stories that's being exaggerated about primarch will definitely be true and Sanguinius would immediately be proclaimed as a holy presence as well as the saviour for the Imperium of Man. There was a conversation when Papa G returned, his demonic brothers who felt his presences all wanted to take a piece of him. Not worrying at all it seems albeit few caution here and there. But with Sanguinius, I bet not every demons brothers of his will want to take on him alone unless there would be some alliance of sorts. Chaos will be somewhat overwhelmed if Sanguinius returns. The level of HOPE he brings are too great and that's why I guess he won't be returning... It's just too sad to not able to see the Great Angel again. I wish he would be revived..

Let us not forget that Sanguinius is foremost a Warrior Primarch as in he excels in combat and leading the Astartes from the frontlines. However, the Imperium is in desperate need for a superb governor and an administrator. Roboute Guilliman is the Primarch that the Imperium needs right now. Also, let's cut Guilliman some slack because he is basically trying to do what the Emperor did when he still walked amongst mankind. He must be in serious stress right now... Both the Angel and the Lion embodied the Emperor better than any other loyalist primarch, with Horus joining them if we were to include the traitors. The only primarch close to being an exact copy of the Emperor is El'Jonson, which is why Sanguinius is more popular overall - because he is the most human of the best primarchs. He, Lion and Horus are all great warriors and diplomats, moreso than any other, but Horus is a traitor and Lion, as much as I'm a fan, embodies his father's worst trait, which is to say, he sees his legion more as tools than his sons, just as the Emperor sees the primarchs. Sanguinius doesn't have this problem, the Blood Angels *are* his sons, not the tools he uses to ensure his father's dream comes to fruition.

The only reason Horus beat Sanguinius is because Horus was empowered by the 4 Chaos gods directly and unlike other enemies, Sanguinius could not channel his angelic rage that makes him such an overpowering fighter in combat against Horus. Like the Emperor, Sanguinius still remembered Horus as the brother he was closest to and even knowing how much he had fallen, he still could not bring himself to truly fight his wayward brother. Sanguinius rage is powerful enough to overpower Khornes rage, that is telling something, but unlike other berserkers, Sanguinius retains full control of his combat prowess even while he is empowered by his rage.

I like the fan theory about the death of Sanguinius and Horus was a cover up, especially the bit about the Emperor's compassion making him hold back. The Black Rage was already starting to emerge within him and the Blood Angels by the Battle of Terra. During their battle, Sanguinius gives into the Red Thirst and/or Black Rage and destroys Horus. The Emperor comes in, and Sanguinius is already too far gone. Sanguinius does some damage to the Emperor, and the Emperor is forced to kill his favorite son. But the Emperor, even in his state, knows the Imperium needs a symbol of hope. So, he obliterated Horus' soul and gives Dorn the current story.

I thought not. It's not a story the Ecclesiarchy will tell you. It's a Custodes legend. The Man-Emperor of Mankind was a great psyker, so powerful and so wise that he could use his powers to influence the nascent Imperium to create... hope. He had such a knowledge of his powers that he could even keep mankind from religion. Psyker powers are a path to many abilities some considered to be unnatural. He became so powerful, that the only thing that could stop him was him losing control of his Imperium, which eventually, of course, happened. Unfortunately, he made his 18 Primarchs to lead his Imperium, then 9 turned against him in the Horus Heresy. Ironic. He could save others from death, but not himself.

Guilliman has given a remark that miracles started to happen wherever he is due to the worshiping. Just imagine Sanguinius, he's already an absolute beast on the field of battle. Now having the benefit of the worships, he's basically a lesser god compared to his father. Sanguinius is the Emperor's grace and wrath, now with a divine aura that would burn away the spawns of the warp, an aura that would make his foes drop their weapons and bow in awe, an aura that would make lesser men think they're in presence of a god. He might even be able to convince some of the traitor primarchs to return to the fold. When Guilliman returned and took control, the high lords tried to get rid of him. But in case of Sanguinius, they wouldn't even DARE to think of such a thought and be grateful when Sanguinius offered them the choice of a life in luxury when he takes over. And for his beauty, grace and charisma, Sanguinius could easily convince the Imperium to start forging a permanent alliance with the Eldar, the Tau, and at least a cease fire with the Necron. I can see this future could become a thing should Sanguinius' soul is found (and last i heard it's somewhere inside the Vengeful Spirit, not an easy feat to acquire it), because i know the Emperor would be willing to take great risk to focus a great amount of his power to see the most beloved son returned.

Unfortunately, there is no cure for the Black Rage or Red Thirst. The Primaris Marines didn't take long to succumb to either. This is explained in at least the two novels of Darkness in the Blood and Astorath: Angel of Mercy. That being said, I am forever hopeful my hawk boi father returns!

The biggest problem with a Sanguinius return is the Imperium itself. The Lion would break systems to make them work for him, Guilliman will work within and change systems to make them work for him, but Sanguinius may struggle staying between the lines and trying to make 'everybody' happy.

Angron doesn't count, he could beat Rus as a demon primarch but not without the power boost. So it should be Sanginius, Kurze and Rus. Sanguinius would embrace religion for sure. But I don't think it would be because he doesn't want to take away people's hope. I think at the end of the day Sanguinius and Vulcan are not only the most human of the primarchs, they understand humanity the most as well. Sanguinius would understand that faith is far to ingrained in humanity to eliminate and for that reason alone he would back it. But not without some major changes in their practices. Also, I think if he came back Failbaddon would shit himself and probably jump the gun on some half cocked 14th crusade that would end in disaster for chaos and abby getting the new nickname, Failbaddon the Headless.

As Sanguinius’s spirit is still trapped on the vengeful spirit and it’s been confirmed that primarchs can be cloned, there is no reason that Sanguinius cannot return. On top of this the emperors sword is capable of giving a daemon “true death”. Sanguinius or even the Lion with the emperors sword would cause fear in the hearts of any daemon on the battlefield, even Daemon Primarchs

I seem to recal in the third Blood Angels book, that the final battle took place in Sanguinus's tomb, in front of his body that was in stasis. I guess it's possible that some Yanari soul magic could restore him. I used to suspect that the Sanguinar was sanguinus reborn as a warp entity, but that has since been disproven. I do think Dorn and Alpharius could make a comeback. All they found from Dorn was his hand. In the Fulgrim books, they cut off fulgrims foot and it grew back. So I imagine losing a hand is no big deal. And Alpharius just cause .... I am Alpharius.

If Sanguinus returned I feel your theory with the church is flawed. Many references to him show him as a primarch who eschews self gratification, one that dismisses compliments and shuns undue complement. Reawakening to being a god figure? He would try to convince otherwise and thus be at odds with the church, perhaps even condemned by it for his denial and the risk he posses to the church.

But you're forgetting something. He's a Primarch, that automatically means he isn't stupid. He would be an absolute genius when compared to a normal human or even Astartes and possibly even a Techpriest. So, just like Robute Gulliman, he would know full well just how powerful the Ecclesiarchy is and would thus treat them with great caution and a modicum of respect for, at the very least, giving the citizens of the Imperium _hope_ for the last ten thousand years, in their own way. So, while he may not like self gratification or compliments, I am positively certain that in this case he would absolutely grit his teeth and bear it no matter how much he absolutely _hated_ every moment of it. So him working alongside the Ecclesiarchy as one of if not THE most powerful institution in the Imperium to, at the very least, give the people hope to continue fighting on dispite the absolutely terrible state of the Imperium and the seemingly impossible odds they face, would definitely NOT be outside the realm of possibility. If that meant the Imperium seeing him as a religious icon and "the Great Angel of the God Emperor of Mankind", so be it. Sometimes terrible sacrifices must be taken by certain individuals for the betterment of Mankind, and Sanguinius would know that better than almost anyone. Also, his "gift of foresight" would help him immensely in knowing how to act and what approach to take with a lot of things.

Oh man. That "Little Horus, get out of here." comments was just great. 10/10 Sick burns. But I don't know about Angron and Kurze being 2nd or 3rd best primarchs. They were terrifying fighters to be sure, but I do think that Russ was better than them when it came to skill at arms. Remember, he was letting Angron win when the two of them fought, so that his space wolves could surround Angron. And I don't think the insanity of either Kurze or Angron would've helped them too much against another primarch. Although I wouldn't say it wouldn't play any factor at all, but not nearly as much against a warrior as skilled as Russ. And I think that we could all agree that if both Sanguinius and Vulkan coming back would probably be the ultimate team and the Imperium would roflstomp every other enemy they had.

Inquisition is going to fight the Ecclesiarchy. Astartes against astartes, and so on. Then Chaos join in, followed by the Orks and other xenos. In short, we are getting an even _'jollier' good time,_ compared to the days of _Noctis Aeterna._

Silver There was a moment in a novel(don’t remember it’s name sadly)but it was during The Great Crusade.Sanguinius killed one of his Space Marines and drank his blood,which is the Red Thirst.Horus spotted him and they both agreed out of mutual friendship/reluctance to keep it quiet between themselves.And the Black Rage is basically what Sanguinius felt before death.Pure rage.

His body is on Baal...but in a Sarcophagos with ever flowin molten gold and blood. You can read that in the 2nd Blood Angels Omnibus or the Novelle series Red Third/Black Tide. Rafen fought on top of the Sarcophagos against a horde of mutants to defend it.
