Hey There Joey! I was having some issues on the newest edition of Blender, Version 4.2. At 18:33 in the video you enable a feature called "Mesh: LoopTools". This no longer appears in the current version to my knowledge. Please let me know if there is an alternative to the LoopTools. Thanks for making such an awesome video! -Kiva

I couldn't get the shrink wrap to work. But I did come across a tutorial by 3Dnot2D the other day about using a lattice modifier to get a clean shrink wrap. good thing I had saved it for future reference, because it did the trick.
@plutus25593 ай бұрын
I spoke too soon. I noticed the eyes were a bit small but when I sized them up the lattice grabbed onto the top of the ears instead of the face. After a whole lot of fiddling with the shrink wrap, both with and without lattices, I gave up and tried it with just face snap and then I could finally get it right. I do enjoy problem solving, but at this beginning stage I can't tell why something works or not. It could just be me hitting some hotkey by mistake
@shehranhcl3 ай бұрын
If you are wondering why eyes are not snapping right on the face, then you need change the snap setting and select "center", mine was set to closest
@ScamalasaurusАй бұрын
Nice, this is different to the way I learned but I like it. The workflow is pretty disaster resistant once you practice it a bit, it's brilliant for 3D animation. I'm definitely going to use all of this for asset creation in general. I personally love to build templates within blender for myself like just base designs that can be reused like this one or whole environments.

Great video. I really like the low-poly version of modeling you showed at the beginning. I always have trouble when it comes to rigging. It usually looks fine up until the point to where I pose my character to sit. Then the verts around the hips or bum area always look off, no matter how much weight painting I do :r.

I'm assuming you're using Blender 4.1 or 4.2. I am using 4.0. I don't have a "Smooth by Angle" option in the modifiers. But I was able to use Shade Auto Smooth and just mess around with the angle and eventually it showed a good result.
@Stuckathomemom2 ай бұрын
NOTE: If something goes terribly wrong with the nose and you have to make more planes for the mouth, and eyes - you're not the only one. Unfortunately when you get to minute point 26 none of the shrink wrapping or mirroring is going to work - everything works until you scale and then the eyes go shooting out of the head like a 12 year old boy drawing boobs in his textbook - anyway, after that there is nothing you can do to fix it. I tried 5 different times. created a new plane, using the same directions as the nose, then skipped over to the part about the eyes. Every time I have the same results - eye burst from the head and I can't fix them.
