I'm actually pleasantly surprised at how electronic the Natlan characters' trailer music has been so far! Mualani and Xilonen's are my favorite as of now (with Xilonen's definitely being in my top 5 trailers in general, the rap and singing hit unbelievably hard-)

To be honest, this trailer was a big miss for me. Actually kinda turning me off from pulling for her. Probably the rap/rave aspects of it. Didn't feel at all like it fit in a fantasy game, and rap music being my least favorite genre of music as well doesn't help it any... I'll probably hold on pulling her until after I finish the archon quest. Since my excitement for her dropped to 0 after that trailer. Genshin does an amazing job with their story telling and characters, so I'm sure playing through the archon quest will hype me up a bit. I love the Natlan music and characters, but this just felt really off for me, like it belonged in a different game.

you’re not the only one that thinks this 🥲 i personally love rap and though i find the song to be cool and i will still be pulling for Xilonen - i think this trailer strays too far from what genshin is as a game. i love the music in Natlan a lot and the fact that that culture was not represented in Xilonens trailer definitely feels like a bit of a miss to me too.

@@morichiiii yeah but it was incorporated into the game in a way that wasn’t immersion breaking. the akasha system worked because it took fantastical elements into the account of it’s design. it has motifs from the Sumeru akademiya logo as well as being clearly inspired by greater lord Rukkhadevata as it was originally her creation - it even had a leafy design imprinted on it when in use... a trailer with a straight up rave with massive screens and a modern DJ set that has no fantastical elements blended into it, or just no semblance of Natlan as a region (it could take inspiration from Children of Echoes, but it looks like a floating DJ set and nothing more) put into any of it is going to make all of that stuff look out of place.
