Japanese voice actress completely showed Kuro's calmness and wisdom which beyond his age. Instead of simply a young boy, Japanese version made Kuro more like "a master/lord who understands loneliness and destiny, and is willing to sacrifice". Really appreciate it.

Honestly think there lines up are pretty boring compared to their previous picks in their past games. Shiva of the east, Eingyi, Ingwad,etc(DS1). Doll,Micolash, yandere Nun, Gerhman, Or that slob that goes "LADY MARIA, I'M A ROBIN!",etc (Bloodborne). Caged fellows,Eygon, Gael,Firekeeper,etc.(DS3). There's just something so memorable from those VA. I didn't mention DS2 because fuck that game.

I think From always has excellent dub but the characters in Sekiro really benefit from the nuances of japanese VA. Owl sounds exactly like a treacherous triple crosser, Genichiro sounds very solemn and Isshin sounds like battle incarnate. The best moments occur in the battles, like when Owl yells the principles "Hitotsu!" or Isshin says "Sekiro!" with so much weight.

In that route he lets others like owl and the iron code rule over him, and coupled with the bloodshed and sadness pushes him over the edge. However, before he makes the choice when asked by owl to abandon Kuro he's always been conflicted, no way he's just someone who was blindly following orders. He didn't show it outright but his subtle emotions are visible. The Wolf that takes the other route (staying loyal to Kuro) says it himself, that like his master he will live by his own will and forge his own path, making his own choices. In that route he has overcome the negative and controlling influences of his father, the rigid iron code and eventually his own sorrows. He feels much more alive when you see him walk alongside the child of rejuvenating waters in the hidden ending, because he is living by his own choice

I would like to add that at the beginning of the game, Wolf really has no drive beside the mission at hand. He thinks he's lost his Lord and loses the will to put up any fight- a reason why the guards don't lock him up. When he finally lifts his head up, you can see the dust fall off of Wolf's face. But throughout the game, he becomes more human. As Emma says "Master Wolf, it appears your brow has become less furrowed than before."

I honestly think it's better to play the game on Japanese dub because it takes place in Japan while in Dark souls and the other souls series it's better play with English dub because it takes place in western place.

I'm gonna be brutally honest. If you start the game in eng and play it all the way through you'll be like "yeah they did a good job" but once you hear the Japanese vo. That's it. No going back.
