As someone who's played the games for the first two movies, where Welker _did_ voiced Megs, I can say this 1000%. The Transformers Prime voice (which is a mix of the G1 voice and Hugo Weaving's take), on the other hand, was PERFECT for the job, but alas it came after TF1 and ROTF.
