Charcuterie is a creation of 15th century France. It's all about meats, forcemeats, salumi, sausages, etc. It is NOT breakfast food. It is NOT candy, nor is it S'mores, nothing but cheese, and certainly not those butter boards either! Charcuterie is broken down into "char" and "cuit" - which represents "cooked flesh".
