Because the reason she lost it was a lien put on her house for non payment of a service. That's the law. If someone does work for you on your house and you don't pay the full amount, the law states that they can take your house.

Then allegedly the fraudster bought the home back from the person he sold too for more than what he initially sold it for 2nd red flag. I am assuming that all others after them were legit sales.

I saw the other episode where it talked about prior selling the house to a friend for 50,000 will then sold it right back to him. Sounds like this guy had no money and no actual dollars change hands. Then Pryor took out a loan for $265,000 on the property and never made a payment. This was a scam from the word go.
