I had a 1972 Charger Rallye factory 440 magnum automatic with bucket seats and console. Car had factory A/C and power windows. Was a yellow car (I think the color was called banana in 1972) and originally had a full vinyl top which I never saw as when I had the car in the 80's it had been removed.

Sometimes this body style gets overlooked, but Richard Petty drove one for years.😊

Beautiful car, I love that generation of Charger. I had a much tamer base 73 coupe with a 318, later replaced with a 360, and I still miss it. Thank you for this enjoyable video.

Great job on the video Jim! I especially like how you found and inserted the picture of me and my Banana Yellow 1974 Charger Rallye. It was fun working with you and Bruce!

I’m a 40 year old and that banana yellow charger has been a bucket list car of mine since 7th grade. I think the yellow and the black stripes is one of the best color combos of all time. My friends brother had a 73 rallye with the same package and a 400 magnum. I been in love ever since. I also love your 72. Hard to find them like that these days!

Service manager had one of these with the 340 at a nearby dealership....circa late 80's early 90's....I'd drive by every chance I'd get just to get a glimpse of the car. Color was the same as well! Thanks, Mr .Campisano for sharing this and compliment to the owner, Very Nice Charger!

Give me 60436 Omaha Orange, On my TV yours looks Tor-red which is very nice too!

In 1972 the color code was EV2. Plymouth called it Tor-Red and Dodge called it Hemi-Orange. Same color, different names.

Gross output is the output of a ‘bare’ engine running on a test stand with no external engine-driven accessories (e.g., alternators or water pumps), free-flowing exhaust headers with no mufflers, and optimal ignition timing. Gross output represents an engine’s maximum output under ideal conditions. Net ratings are still taken with the engine on a test stand, but reflect stock ignition timing, carburetion/fuel delivery, exhaust systems, and accessories. The specific methodology varies depending on the specific standard being used, but the gist is a net rating is a closer approximation of an engine’s output as actually installed in a car or truck. A 1971 440 4-barrel engine was virtually identical to a 1972 440 4-barrel engine. Many of the blocks installed in 1972 were made in 1971. Before 1971, most U.S. automakers preferred to quote the more generous gross figures. Net figures might appear in shop manuals, technical papers, or other factory literature, but rarely showed up in advertising.
