Acho cited the Miami game as evidence for Herbert letting the team down. He doesn't mention the fact that the defense surrendered almost 600 yds of offense.....Also he didn't go to the best situation. Remember this is the same organization that Eil Manning refused to go to.....Acho has to be trolling for reactions.

A few weeks ago Acho talked about what makes a great coach. 1 of the criteria was taking care of their side of the team as Head Coach. Staley comes from the defense side of football. He still calls the defense most of the game. 2022 best year so far for his defense and they were 21st in points and 20th in yards allowed per game to opponents. That's not good. Herbert does make mistakes and has room to grow but can he get a defense that cracks the top 20 in the league from his defensive minded head coach?

The problem is that if Herbert doesn't close it out, literally no one else ever does. Every other team Acho listed others step up. Herbert is the only player that has to end things perfectly if he is going to win. Because his coach nearly always makes the wrong defensive calls and mismanages downs and clocks on offense. So either Herbert plays perfectly at the end, because it's pretty much always close since there's no defense, or they lose.

@@monochrome493 funny how Mar-Mar was GIVEN an MVP because he's black and had 13 pro-bowlers on his team. Funny how he can't seem to do anything in the playoffs....why is that? Oh, maybe because he's not a good QUARTERBACK. That's why they wanted to change his position coming out of college. He hasn't proven ANY of them wrong, by the way. You're an idiot if you think he has. The only people that say things like what you just said are absolute racists. The best BLACK quarterback of all time is Warren Moon - and it's not even CLOSE for #2. Running ability has no bearing on whether someone is a good QUARTERBACK. It can be HELPFUL but if that's all you have going for you, you're not going to fare very well in the playoffs - and Mar-Mar hasn't. If he was GOOD, he'd have won at least 2 Super Bowls, by now, with all the talent he's had playing with him. All the b.s. about not having good players - nice false narrative the media and, as a result, you duped race-baiter fans spew, constantly - is just that: B.S. The problem with that is that the talent around him has always been some of the best in the NFL. They just don't look that way because of HIM. They win IN SPITE of him, not BECAUSE of him. Joe Flacco won the Super Bowl....all you racists want to talk about how much better Mar-Mar is...well, why can't HE win the Super Bowl? Stop crying about injuries. Every team has those. Why everyone judging herbert when he literally threw 4 perfect passes that were all dropped by recievers and his defense (when's he off the field) allows 900 yards over two games. Stop blaming the qb who has 4th most yards in nfl history at his point in his career versus a team who can't do what they need to do

Herbert is an elite qb. Point. Blank. Period. He’s an elite qb, but every team needs support. No one is questioning Mahomes for not finishing even when his defense does good. Great players can only do so much when he’s 1 of 53 on a roster.

The Herbert hate is crazy. I think Mahomes this year should tell all of us something. If that defense wasn’t ballin out, Mahomes by himself would not be able to elevate that offense to victory. Coincidentally, this is the worst line and group of pass catchers he’s ever had. And that’s Mahomes. Marino never won it all but don’t nobody doubt his greatness. If Herbert plays another 10 years at his current level, rather he wins the big one or not, I don’t think anybody would doubt he was great.

Herbert is definitely top ten and probably top five in this league, some franchises are just trash, like The Bears, The Panthers, The Browns, The Chargers and it starts right at the very top with ownership. Poor decisions , antiquated practices and outlook holding them from their potential despite doing some things really well like in the case of The Browns and Chargers excellent roster building. If Staley was the DC he'd already be fired.

Herbert went to the best situation in his draft class? Wtf is Ocho smoking? Burrow and Hurts both ended up with teams with better overall rosters (Herbert only had a top-10 roster by his 3rd year but then most of them ended up being injured) and head coaches. Herbert had among the worst offensive lines, 2 head coaches in 2 years, a conservative OC in Lombardi, coupled with a roster that constantly broke down with injuries at major positions and had one of the statistically worst defensive units over the 4 years he's been there. Apart from their OL issues Burrow is stacked with offensive weapons, a great offensive-minded head coach, and what has consistently been a very good-to-excellent defense behind him. Hurts has probably the best roster in the NFL on both sides. Truly stupid takes from people who don't even follow the Chargers and just react to surface-level QB win-loss records. Herbert is by no means perfect and still has to grow but is ABSOLUTELY not the problem. Take him out and the Chargers are hands down one of the worst teams in the league. Oh, and the dude is among the top 3 with the most game-winning drives since he entered the NFL which no one ever talks about because it undermines social media analysts like Ocho's batshit narrative. What is he supposed to be, prime Brady or Manning all of a sudden? Apart from Mahomes, I don't see any current QB doing better in the situation Herbert's in if you straight-up swap them.

They talk like Justin Herbert has never lead a comeback. He actually has 13 comeback victories since 2020, one behind Kirk Cousin who leads with 14 since that time. Yea, he has failed a few times this year, but that falls on the Chargers being the Chargers. They forget that in those games, the he lead them to the lead or tie, before their defense gave it up, in all those games. What about this week in Green Bay, where he threw a dot to Quentin Johnston, and QJ dropped what was possibly a Touchdown, at the very least in position for a game tying FG. The game shouldn’t have even got to that point, dropped passes, Ekeler fumble inside the 5 yard line, a PI penalty on 3rd and 20 to extend the drive where Green Bay took the lead…it’s the Chargers being the Chargers. Without Herbert the Chargers are the worst team in the league and may have 0 or 1 win.

The Herbert situation is a fascinating "emotional bias" paradox: all (media, fans...) say that Herbert has greatness in him, while greatness blatantly keeps eluding him, season after season, coach after coach, game after game. "We" have collectively decided once and for all that we LOVED Herbert, he's up there in our collective esteem with Burrow or Allen, when much more deserving QBs like Goff, Dak or Mayfield still struggle to find consideration out of their fan base.
