Charity Shop Finds: Harlequin Violin Outfit

I have an old violin, probably from the 1930s/40s, which my deceased grandfather found in pieces after an actual barn dance fight if you can believe it! ;) He did some repairs to it, but I have no idea if it has potential to play well since it sits in my china cabinet. I need to see if I can affect repairs to make it playable again...

Make sure there is a soundpost intact before you tune it up to pitch... or have it looked at at a violin shop.

Woud a violin like that lend itself to an electric pickup and be used as a controller rather than an acoustic instrument for someone who wanted to play sound processed violin?

Yes, at first I thought it was an electric violin - especially with that finish!
