Charity shops, noisy Poles and a game prices rant

Great finds. Godzilla is an interesting one. As far as I know it had a relatively low print run, but the big thing that caused the price to spike was it being delisted from the digital store. Probably also the renewed interest around Godzilla as a franchise is also adding a little bit extra on top. I’ve yet to play it, but pleased to have it in the collection - wouldn’t have been able to justify what it’s going for these days though. I’d need to have a real emotional attachment to a particular game to consider that.

@@HarpoSpeaks indeed - from what I understand, it's not a bad game per se, but it's quite janky and repetitive. The voice acting is meant to be RE1 levels of badness, too.

Im so jealous of your God of War collection find for £3! I paid more than 10x that on eBay for one (it is admittedly, mint, but I'd have preferred a shabby one for £3!) yours looked in good nick too, welll done!

Just last week I picked up a copy of Wolverine on PS3 from a charity shop in Morecambe for just £2, sold it this week on eBay for £60

If you don't like that Ferrari challenge game, I'll buy it off ya. I've wanted to play that painkiller game for ages but I refuse to pay the crazy price it is. Great find at £3

@donaldmackerel I'd be happy too if I'd found it at that price. I can't justify spending that much on a game that may or may not be any good. I'm collecting for the full set of ps1 games and I already dropped £900 on a game that's possibly the worst thing I've ever seen. Cindys fashion world is the game in question. My wife was not happy with me for spending that amount of money on a game, especially one that is pure ass

The devs of the gta trilogy remaster used ai for upscaling which is and was a mess. An early example of that is the silent hill hd collection, the atmospheric lighting and fog is totally gone. The ps2 versions are much better.

@AnotherNormalYorkshireman I heard it was a terrible rush job! It's madness too, as just before it came out, I bought every GTA game in a bundle on Steam for £7.

​@donaldmackerel it didn't need to be a rush job though, not like rockstar are skint for money. Grove street games I think they're called are the ones that did the remaster. They used ai and it was so bad in the pre patch release that there were words that were spelt wrong, scenes that looked out of place and some seriously wonky long arms and legs. This is why I won't touch remastered games as the originals are always the best.
