My favourite grand tree play I’ve done so far is to pop a dusknoir, thorton the duskull back in, rod the dusclops and dusknoir back to the deck, grand tree them back out, and pop it again So 260 damage, + another 60 to charzard’s next attack, its potentially a 4-prize turn

tried this but no way to fish up the tree with budew beating me to the punch did budew even appear in any of these games?? I got frozen by three in a row

Is there a reason to not run Colress’s Tenacity to be able to search for Grand Tree with Lumineon? We could just sub it for 1 Arven, which is very dead under Budew.

There are lists running colress and DTE with the idea being that you colress, grand tree to evolve to pidgeot, attach DTE to attack, knockout Budew and discard grand tree

pidgeot ex is the only way to search in in this decklist. Colress Tenacity could be added to search it if you want

It's just difficult to find those energies if you are item locked.

@ very true. I tend to play six energy (must start practicing with 5), but you do have to hard draw one early

Hard to find any energy in an energy sparse list and it also dies to Dragapult which is gonna be everywhere

Cacnea from SV base kills Budew on the spot. It replaced Cleffa in my non-Grand Tree Zard deck.

Until they just attack with another budew. Plus you still can't play items that turn. Just doesn't seem worth the deckspace esp compared to other tech cards like vacuum, collapsed, or cologne

Honestly playing your own budew would slow down the pace enough on their side to put urself in a good enough spot most of the time

How exactly Grand Tree counters Budew?

Budew turns off rare candy which basically auto wins against the average zard list. Grand tree doesn’t get turned off

@cag_0k642 It kinda helps but you still need to attach 2 fire energies on zard. I wouldn't say it counters but surelly give a chance for the zard player.

I haven’t done it in my Grand Tree Zard deck yet, but in my pre-Prismatic Zard deck I added a Cacnea from SV base and it completely neutralized Budew in the one match up I faced it. It was awesome.
