Because Bonkai was actually a possibility but Julie Plec stepped in and just because she didn't like the character Kai in general she made him the bad guy all the time and then soon enough killed him off

I think I understand why Kai was evil.... TVD should have done an episode about Kai's life or something done could have more understanding of how and why he became like that. We have only had bits and pieces of he personality and he was killed off before we even could explore him. I believe he was good and realized that he was wrong for what he did. Then that's when he started like Bonnie, but when Bonnie left him in the prison world. Who wouldn't be mad.... He sort of figured out that no matter what he do they would always see him as a bad person. We honestly don't know what happened to Kai when he was little. It seems like he had a rough childhood too and daddy issues.... Probably momma issues too but who knows. I think they shouldn't have killed him off just yet.

So much potential for kai was wasted. Klaus and enzo got redemption arc's. Kais redemption arc would have been amazing. And he would have made the show better. Plus if bonnie hadn't trapped him in 1903 the arc would have happened and jo wouldn't be dead. ITS A WIN WIN!

The fact that Julie never let Bonkai happen is just mind boggling. I hear a bunch of excuses, she must have a bias towards Bonnie. Damon was redeemed so many times for his evil ways. I don't see why they couldn't do the same with Kai. Their chemistry was so believable. I loved how Kai was obssessed with her, he usually dropped subtle hints of being attracted to her. I mean come on, why would they tease us to only end his life!!?? Makes no sense!

The feeling is there, the dreadful feeling. I felt like they could of held up a strong connection. Kai being a smart ass, Bonnie probably laughing at his clever comments. It tore me when Kai tried so hard to gain her trust back, but she just couldn't except it. Unfortunately, Kai dying is also, the end of them ever becoming something, sad face.

Love this, made me want to cry, I know I know he was evil and did a lot of messed up things. What about everyone else? Klause is infinity more messed up than him with an ocean of blood behind him, Elijah isn't left behind with his trail of blood, Damon was basically having the town for dinner and abusing minors for kicks in the beginning (still kills here and there), Enzo has blood on his hands too, Stefan was a freaking ripper!
