I’m glad that Charlemagne finally stepped up to the plate and made the necessary comments to clear the air with Monique. His silence made her situation look like it wasn’t that serious when it was . Now if everybody else that took her for granted would just do the same thing . I hate to think that this is a light skinned vs dark skinned issue. When Taraji came forth about pay inequality she seemed to have been received better. When Viola and Keke came forth it was different. It seemed as if people’s perceptions of them were they have choices. The roles are limited when the pay is not right. So they really don’t have the choices that people thought.

His apology slid right over this in my opinion. When Shannon started the interview listing her accomplishments it highlighted the significance of the disrespect over the years. I can't imagine telling an elder in my community that they should be okay with less for anything from traditionally racist institutions to include media and entertainment. I hope someone gets real and gets her some back money, cause these words spoken in such a forced manner is not enough.

How about she apologizes to the son she deserted as a baby. She, thru out some half assed apology many years later, was bs. She said she'd let the universe, not God fix it, but she's making no effort to mend their relationship. He has nothing to apologize for. He was a child and the one deserted. Can u imagine how he feels as an adult knowing his mother didn't want to be bothered, yet with her new family, she all loves them. Karma is a mf. Perhaps that's why her life is so disturbing and chaotic. How about she start with a genuine apology.

Guilty of adding her to the blacklist yes. You win a Oscan and can’t find work means someone has it out for you. Other than the word on the street claims that she is difficult to work with there as to be more. Or, is it really true that she is so hard to work with no one wants to deal with her. I really wish someone from the other side would come out and say something but, she can’t make enough noise to make them even lose any sleep.

There will be few that engage in this spectatorship in honor of the vulnerability courage and strength it takes to endure a journey like this. Truth is as timeless as any other element of nature. I applaud this couple in accepting their assignment not just to be committed to ‘exposing a truth’ but understanding the duty to have unconditional love for self and others and especially for the accused, to have forgiveness and recognizing the healing that gets to occur for themselves and others. This feat is not for the faint of hearts and only some of us will recognize that this assignment awaits many more of us to open the door to healing in our community. I’m inspired. We need the aunties uncles and moguls from our Households to Hollywood to sit on the couch and take accountability and responsibility for the generations to come. Shout out to the Breakfast Club for taking to the couch..
