I am sitting bedside with my father, listening to this song while he transitions. So sad but so beautiful as well.

I don't know if should be mad at Big Mouth for making this song as their intro or if I should be happy for discovering this song because of Big Mouth

This song brought me to tears, remembering back to when I had a best friend, we knew each other since kindergarten and sadly drugs steadily became apart of their life, I tried so hard to help them, be there for them, take care of them until I realized you can't help someone who doesn't want help and I needed to change, I couldn't let this person keep treating me like this and then thinking it's my fault why riffs keep happening (our friendship grew to be abusive and toxic the last few years we remained friends) I miss them dearly, but kicking them out of my life was for the better. It was the change I needed.

I'm sorry you went through that. It's not an easy thing to see somebody that you care about slowly turning into somebody that you don't even know anymore 😢 But sometimes you need to push these people out of your life for your own sanity and peace of mind. And as far as helping them out goes, there's that old saying: You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink 🤷‍♂️ They need to be the one to discover / admit that they have a problem 🙋🏻‍♂️ And they need to be the one who truly wants to change their life for the better 🙏 Until that day, all the counseling and encouragement in the world won't help them. They themselves gotta want it 🙏 But don't give up all hope because they might find their way eventually. Give them some time. And if they really do change then maybe you can be there to be a supportive friend again 🤗 Just beware of the possibility of them "pretending" to be all better 😁👍 Just as an excuse to pressure you for money (Sure I'm all better. Thank goodness 🙏 But uh... They're gonna cut off my electricity tomorrow! 😭 And I really really need to borrow $160 🙏 You know I'm good for it! I'll pay you back next week as soon as I get my cheque 🤥)

Lyrics I feel unhappy I feel so sad I lost the best friend That I ever had She was my woman I loved her so But it's too late now I've let her go I'm going through changes I'm going through changes We shared the years We shared each day In love together We found a way But soon the world Had its evil way My heart was blinded Love went astray I'm going through changes I'm going through changes It took so long To realize And I can still hear Her last goodbyes Now all my days Are filled with tears Wish I could go back And change these years I'm going through changes I'm going through changes

THIS is how that song should have ALWAYS been done!!! Who knows, if Sabbath did a version when they were Earth, a BLUES band, maybe it did sound more like this! But Ozzy sure never sang it like THIS!!! WOW!!!

Although I do enjoy the original Black Sabbath version, Ozzy's lyrical performance is just no comparison to the raw emotion heard here. Charles Bradley sounds like he is totally devastated. As if the only person he had ever loved had died right there in his arms 😭 His heart is totally broken and he will never be the same ever again 😭 Ozzy, in comparison, sounds more like he's mildly upset over something. As if he maybe drove all the way down to the art gallery, only to discover that it was closed for the day 😕 His plans are totally spoiled and he will have to come back tomorrow 😥

actually, charles bradley sang it shortly after his mom passed away, and these emotions you’re feeling through the music are genuine. He was with her when she passed, and was holding her during her last breath and her last goodbye :’(

I think Ozzy did a good job. He was singing about resigned acceptance of having to move on with life. Given that he was emoting on behalf of his bandmate (who wrote the lyrics) and not himself; I think he did a great job. I doubt that Ozzy spent much time lamenting closed art galleries :-). I like this version a lot; however, it is a pretty straight interpretation of Stax records Soul. Black Sabbath took the template to new places. I'm not really sure why people feel the need to pit one version of this song against the other. Both emote different reactions to loss.
