Charles Bronson and Al Lettieri meet up in a bar and Lettieri bad mouths Bronson and threatens to kill him. After a few more smart remarks from Lettieri, Bronson sucker punches him to let him know who is the baddest dude! Great Charles Bronson scene from "Mr. Majestyk" 1974.

Clocks a hitman, walks out with a smoking hot babe, and casually crushes the hitman's ego with a hilariously scathing suggestion. Now that's great entertainment.

Think he also was involved in the adaptation of his novel, no wonder it turned to be a interesting movie out of a premise that could be silly the hands of lesser writters, "Imagine this, Charles Bronson as a melon picker involved in a mostly one-sided feud against the Turk from The Godfather", could had ended as some kind of self-parody and while is not super gritty its fun aspect never comes from the movie making fun of itself.

virtually every 1970s bronson movie was excellently scripted and played out. chatos land, death wish, red sun, the mechanic, hard times, and this one. bronson was a legitimate tough guy in real life. but old al lettieri was also pretty intimidating as he had real links with the mob i believe. loved them both. best opposition roles of any 1970s action film.

In the movie, Majestyk was badder than Renda, no doubt. But in real life, no way Charles Bronson would want any part of Al Lettieri in a phyisical confrontation. Not that Bronson wasn't a tough, rugged dude, but Lettieri was well known by everybody in the motion picture industry as being one bad ass nobody wanted to frig with. You can log that in your daybook, my friend.

I don't recall seeing that interview, but I don't doubt that it happened. My late uncle, (Virgil) who lived in L.A. years back, used to hang out at a bar on the Santa Monica Pier. He claimed to have witnessed Lettieri beat the daylights out of a big college footballer after some words were exchanged between the two. I remember him telling me that the man really knew how to fight - apparently, even when he was under the influence of the sauce.

An excellent movie about being honest and one step ahead always if a man has the will of his convictions and the level HEADEDNESS to see it through because he never closes the door on himself. Notice how Bronson treats his adversary as a simple obstacle, rather than being a antagonist....."oh yeah??? you're lucky there are cops here buddy or else I would be killing you bleh blehhhh blahhhhhhh" ....if anything, Majestyk is all very matter of fact about everything and standing his ground relevant to just that and only that, "....okkkk, when is this BIG EVENT going to take place?....hmmm ok, well, i guess there isn't any way of getting on your good side....💥👊🏻boom" Bronson is always exercising his right or opportunity that most people passively are not aware of or do not take or do not rationalize..... ....kinda like at the beginning where he tells the wannabe tough guy trying to be the local extortor that you know what you make sounds like you're a mean little ass kicker but I'm not convinced..... Then gives fair warning and treats the guy for exactly what he is and simply tells The Hired hands and whinos.....HEYYYY put down any melons you've messed up or picked and basically get the hell out of here I already got a crew..... And you see? He always keeps every case and scenario relevant and not, HEY IF YOU PICKERS AND WINOS DON'T GET OUT OF HERE ALONG WITH YOUR BIG MOUTH WANT TO BE TOUGH GUY BOSS....blah blah blah... That's how you close the door in on yourself because the want to be tough guy basically has nothing to do with the relevant fact that it is Bronson's property and his melons and the pickers are a third party that as far as Bronson's position is concerned has nothing to do with the second party being the tough guy wannabe..... in other words it's those pickers that are the issue and not the local extortionist who's all wind and smoke.... as far as Bronson is concerned that issue has been settled now the extortionist basically doesn't even exist.... get rid of the pickers now who don't know any better and the extortionist is left standing there with his big mouth and his dick in his hand.... Bronson already told him what he's going to do if he keeps talking or basically remains on his property and that's perfect because Bronson doesn't close the door on himself and now it's a simple matter of if the extortionist wants to raise the stakes and we already know the result of that the dude got his shotgun snatched out of his hands and shotgun butted right in his balls lol..... It's really an excellent movie, who says you can't learn from movies.... everything one needs to know is in this movie in all reality. you rely on yourself and what is right and the rest takes care of itself.... which means no thyself obviously Charles Bronson is an ex airborne ranger and therefore like Adolf Hitler said there you stand with your log books here I stand with my gun who's going to win? You can't just be the brilliant strategist you have to have a fist to back up any idea or else it cannot survive and that's the bottom line and always will be.
