One of the GREATEST ACTORS EVER. Bronson had a screen presence that was magnetic. Just watching him was entertaining, for example in The Mechanic, where he sets up his first assassination at the very start of the movie. No dialog for the first 15 minutes. In Chato's land, where he speaks only 12 lines in the ENTIRE MOVIE: and these are Excellent movies! In the 1980s there were a few films that were not that great, such as Love and bullets, Assassination & St. Yves. Don't get me wrong, Bronson was never a bad actor, he was just in a few bad films. Nonetheless his legacy lives on forever in the history of Cinema. He was always like an underdog, a loner, a wanderer, a touch of a sad look in his eyes, very notable in Death Hunt, which made him so sympathetic. For me and for many others that I see here, judging by the comments, he was one of the GREATEST ACTORS who to ever walk the face of the earth.

The last scene made me smile. It reminded me of one night at at club when I saw a tiny little lass on the dance floor being hassled by a guy for a dance. He was all over her and just wouldn't take no for an answer. My table was at the edge of the dance floor and they were just on the other side of the rail, so this happened right in front of me. Anyway, After about the fifth "No !" she was pretty irritated with the guy taking liberties, so she took a step back and gave him the best kick in the balls that I've ever seen given. She connected perfectly and he went down for the count. The guy had friends who were immediately helping him, but he was floored for awhile. She got out of there to avoid having vengeful, drunken guys waiting for her outside when her night was done. As for me, having that ringside seat, I burst out laughing when she dropped that guy twice her size and couldn't stop for a minute or two. That was one smart young lady.

Honorable mentions: THE MECHANIC (1971) and VIOLENT CITY-aka THE FAMILY(1970 w/ Telly Savalas). I'm sure we all have our faves for Bronson, but these are the ones that made the biggest impressions on me. I seem to recall Charles Bronson being in an episode of the old TV series THE UNTOUCHABLES. Believe it or not, crime went down in NYC the year the first movie came out! I lived there at the time!

@@Goffix2009 What?...a drop in crime? That's because Bernard Goetz imitated Bronson and killed some subway muggers.As usual, New York arrested him for murder instead of self defense. I don't remember what happened to him. Regards

Bronson was an American icon, first class....one of the greats! He tried very hard to cover his Slovakian accent, and to do his best in entertaining the U.S. in his movies. What a guy!

I agree with you there, I wish there was a little of that Movie in this Video. I know it is a different style of Bronson, however he is still a stand up guy in the role. John, Australia.

Loved Bronson and all his movies. The only weak point in the plot of the Death Wish movies was the premise that he would or could look like a soft target to lure out muggers and other assorted bad guys. He was starting to get old in the later ones, but in DW 2, he still had the pace of a jungle cat on the hunt. With all the possible targets in NY or LA, how would any hoodlum with a brain cell left possibly look at somebody as mean and tough looking as Bronson and think here is my target for tonight?
@nimlil7 жыл бұрын
Gotta agree with you there. even if you never saw him in a movie before, the first time he comes on screen, you knew he was the guy you wouldnt mess with. Screen presence was great. One of the few actors you believed was as tough as the characters he played.

Kersey simply does what most us lack the balls to do. He does not hope for any justice because he already knows no judge and no law can really help him anyway. He lost his hope in any justice and becomes judge, trial and sentence. And the sentence is always DEATH.
