I saw Gayle in Seattle at the OK Hotel in the '90s. It was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen.

Man, Charles Gayle is a really frenetic and fantastic player, but what makes this performance so driving and fascinating for me is Gerald Cleaver's drumming. I'm a guitarist, I know very little about drumming, but I can tell that this is pretty amazing stuff.
