Call centers are among the worst jobs in the world and everyone just acts like it’s ok, it’s disgusting.
@collinsmcrae Жыл бұрын
Found this video because I just quit a job as a retention agent at Spectrum, after just 3 months. I didn’t know shit about call centers before I took the job. Well, it was the most horrific shit I’ve ever experienced in my life The worst part wasn’t even the calls, really. It was the micromanagement. We had cameras on our PCs that sups and managers popped in on regularly, and every single second was accounted for. They’d even nag you for using the restroom. Calls were back to back. Like 2 seconds between each call. And they wanted us to convince people not to disconnect and upsell them crap at the same time, and meet about 20 fucking different metrics.
@fluffysox607211 ай бұрын
Totally agree. I loved the customers, the micromanagement was HELL
@Flowergoatflower10 ай бұрын
What location ? I work for the company as well and we don’t use cameras on pcs. But they do pop in on random and listen to your calls. I’m currently looking to leave because micromanagement is crazy and we get treated like slaves. Video repair agent btw

Yes the supervisor people everyday. I hang up on them real quick sometimes I get sassy back and that makes them go wild, like this job isn't a priority for me. I have disdain for humans after working call centers. One of the many reasons I have a blicky on me cause I know so many crazies are among us
@1MissRosmerta2 жыл бұрын
Previously worked in the center and I work at the same job only from home three years. I have never had a direct supervisor try to cancel my paid time off in over 4 years until recently over some petty metric that's impossible for practically everyone on my team to meet. I've got news, going to take the paid time anyway, and if I get fired when I return, it was divine intervention. If anyone is reading this considering working in a call center, this is your answer: just don't.

Personally, I don't get bothered by old people so much as I do the rude people who think they know a lot when they really don't. That, and the people that filibuster for ten minutes straight, yet will ask if they're allowed to speak and that you haven't let them say anything if you manage to get a word in edgewise.

Lol I worked in a hell hole call center for three years. Never again. This is actually pretty accurate. If anyone who reads this has applied for a call center job, don’t take the job. It is an absolute nightmare and you will be miserable.

I worked in a call center for 7 years. Here's a tip: when a customer calls in and somehow gets disconnected, DON'T hang up. Just sit there. As long as you don't hang-up, the PBX software thinks you're still on the call, which means the call routing system thinks that you are unavailable to take another call. Oh, and the guy/gal who calls in screaming to speak to a supervisor? We have a special key for those people. Its called "disconnect".

This video is a nice fantasy, but he wouldn't past his first 'fuck' on a recorded call. Every call center I've worked in has a supervisor within earshot and they will hear things like this. Hell, at my current job, I've made mistakes when talking to a person and have had them appear out of thin air to start bothering me during the call. Yeah, Charles would have been told to put himself in whatever they call coaching and would have been pulled into a room with two supervisors (and someone from HR if they are in the same building) and then no one on the floor would see ol' Chuck ever again. The scenario is otherwise mostly realistic, although the day he seems to be having is pretty typical for a busy day in a call center. He seems a little sensitive which says to me either this isn't the job he wants but had no other options, or he's been doing it a while and is burnt out on it, or he works for a REALLY shitty company like DialA.erica or Alorica.
@PiroKUSS Жыл бұрын
