Thank you, Charles, for stopping to capture and share with us. I only wish you could have met the owner and gone for a ride. The Greenbriar/Stepside was so simple, yet so psychedelic sixties.

While these were seen as uncool back in the day when I was 10 years old, they are way cool today. I wish I had one today. My dad bought a new 1965 VW bus and it was not cool in the beginning, became cool in the hippy days, became uncool again and are now way cool again. Lots of the cars and trucks of the 60's became very cheap beaters in the 70s and 80s only to become much sought -after and cool today. People love retro and simple, though not usually as daily drivers. This is a beauty. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful 61 Rampside 👍

Always a pleasure to see a new from you Charles. The step-side idea was genius. You just go right up onto the bed with your hand-truck. So many of the got used to death.

You are so good at what you do, that voice is perfect. Completely captures the aesthetic of the vehicle.

I have ALWAYS liked Corvair's. This truck is tooooo cool! Back when two tone really made a statement.

I learned to drive in a Corvair Greenbrier 4-speed stick, van.

These things are beyond awesome - I've had vans but never the pickup. Yet. Definitely different, especially with that ramp side door.

I've owned a Corvair since '83! A big fan of them. Prices have gone up a lot lately. Trucks don't get any more cool.

I've noticed that about the prices. Too bad...I thought it might be another old car I could afford to add to my collection. It seems to me that just a few years ago you could get a very presentable, clean, nice looking Corvair for under $10,000. You can still get a decent driver in that price range, I think.

For some reason I do not have a 1961 Chevrolet Corvair Pickup Truck and for some another reason I am not as glorious as Charles Phoenix but I can leave a thumb up.

I helped restore a '61 Rampside in 1991. My boss dragged it home along with a Greenbriar van on a trip to Montana. They had been sitting in a dusty Wyoming field for ages. I got the engine running in the Rampside in much the fashion of a 'Will It Run' video.

Scrumptious car!!

Kudos to you Charles for doing a truck. My only critique about this vehicle is that there was no “picket fencing” over the side opening door. Ruins the symmetry. These Corvair trucks also came in van mode.

I owned a used one of these for 4 years. Fun to drive but the engine was problematic. Paid $200 for it and traded it in for $200... for a new '72 VegaWagon, which had its own set of problems.

Back then, if you were driving it you had to bring a 1911 so you didn't get beat up for your lunch money 😅
