The 1959 Buick sedan model was my favorite car when I was 4 years old. I am glad to find someone agrees that the styling is awesome! And yes, I enjoyed watching the video and got lots of laughs!

My Dad's first car was a Black 1959 Buick LeSabre Sedan. It was the most fantastic looking car to me, but then again I was only 6 years old when it got replaced in 1965. All I remember was that after a while, the right rear door would not close unless you fiddled with the hinge. Then on a big road trip to see some national parks, the reverse gear in the automatic transmission decided not to work. My Dad had to try to find motels with parking lots where you could park without having to use reverse gear to get out. My Dad only bought Chevrolets and Fords from 1965 on.

When I grew up we had the mom wagon like nearly every suburban family. Our first was a 55 Chevy 4 door wagon, 2 tone tan and brown, next came a 60 Olds Dynamic 88 in a really nice bronze, our first a/c car. Finally we got a 64 Olds dynamic 88 in white with red interior. I've always loved wagons, maybe I should trade my old Jag XK8 in for a Vista cruiser.

Charles: The seaside town of Wildwood, New Jersey is on the southern tip of New Jersey and there is a whole enclave of 1950s style motels still existing. In fact someone made a really nice coffee table book about that town. I stayed in one of the motels and it was a great experience!

Buick was very considerate. They made the gear selection a mandatory eye test but very fair because they wanted everyone to be able to drive this wagon. Did anyone ever misconstrue the R of P N D L R to mean Race and destroy the trans and differential?
