Awesome, this is the first episode I’ve caught right after it dropped! You fn rock ladies. I raise a 10-year-old daughter by myself who wants nothing more than to be a KZbinr or have a “very cool” podcast in her words. So you’re inspirational as well. Thanks for the great work

The most heartbreaking part of this story to me is knowing that one of the reporters was live on tv while names of victims were being read off, his son’s name was included. I did a report on this tragedy in college and that point always stuck with me. There’s even video of it.

It's wild to think that there was once a time when mass shootings weren't a daily thing in America 😢

I know! Just read an article that stated that they're especially prevalent in the summer months too. Must depend on the age of the shooter though? Some FBI profiler just released the "signs" as most plot like this guy did

This has been one of my favorites. Going so much into depth with what all happened with his mental state. I know people that have had head injuries at younger ages and it definitely has made them into.. questionable people. It's crazy Even a friend of mine had to get a tumor removed from his brain. It went good! But before he had it taken out, his personality completely changed and he was violent with his gf

Charles Whitman is why Kent State was such a national anathema. People wanted Nixons head on a platter. There was just this an overwhelming rage over it and it went on for weeks and weeks. This is one of my earliest memories besides JFK (very very vague) but this made a family impact because I had aunts and uncles going into college. One odd thing is that although the college / tower thing was discussed a lot I didn't learn about the wife and mother till much later, after I read the story as an adult. Like that was untouchable subject matter.

Nobody knows why he did what he did, but judging from his letters, he also did not know. I think the brain tumor and repeated head trauma seems to be a culprit.

He had a brain tumor. Doctors now feel that's what caused him to do this.

This video just reminded of my own mental health before trying to commit, this was a pretty cool look at an outside prospective. I had head injuries from childhood and well it was matching, I found that scary. I can't live without my mum, and I can't be in structure

About what was said around 59:16, there were no bills or law that said during that time that therapist are legally able to call the police.

Definitely listen to the song Sniper by Harry Chapin. It's like a 9 minute song about this.

I unfortunately understood and related a lot to his writings of knowing something was wrong with him but not understanding why. I also understand the need to do something but not having a reason for it. When you are in a place mentally like this it can be hard to overcome the urges and I don't mean just hurting yourself or others but in his case the writing before he had even gone through with stuff.

Love your guys podcast! However I don’t think it’s necessarily a bad thing to teach your kids firearms safety at a young age. I am a registered gun owner myself. But to each their own, not trying to spread any hate ❤ I work third shift at a hospital and listen to you guys all night, or when I’m tanning by the pool

Camp Luuu gen.. 🤣🤣🤣 I'm not laughing AT you, it's a hard word to pronounce. It's just that my dad was stationed there when I was 6/7 and it was THE BEST 2 summers of my childhood. Ocean in the front yard where we hunted for shark's teeth & left over military rations, forest in the back yard with wild blueberries, cherry trees lining the street. Anywho... It's pronounce Lay Zhun.
@clarissafrench58025 ай бұрын
Lol it all depends on who you talk to on how it's pronounced... I have lived 45 mins away from there my whole life and the different pronunciations are amazing! Enc is a whole ass melting pot thanks to the military ❤️ it's the best!
