Great video! I’m loving this series with Mr. Woods. I think that one of the main barriers to black films/filmmakers properly integrating into the Eurocentric film industry is our FEAR of going public with our OWN filmmaking systems. They’re not going to give us what we want nor should we expect them to. It’s the classic problem of integration vs separation (Malcolm X). Integration happens after separation. Nobody wants to deal with inevitably being called a “reverse racist” (lolsmh) for DARING to create our own ecosystem of films. We have to be capable of confidently answering that charge even though WE DO NOT OWE ANYONE AN EXPLANATION!!! It doesn’t take 10 million dollars to make a good film. From a financial standpoint it’s absolutely possible. All we need are good writers, good directors, financiers and black people willing to support. And most importantly, good people working as a unit toward a specific plan. I can attempt to outline a few plans if anyone is interested...
