I really enjoyed watching these, thanks for doing this. As a father to a local (Jax) athlete that is now going on to run D1 in college, its great to see how many great runners come from North Florida and Florida in general. I enjoyed watching your career at Bolles and have watched as you have gone on to college. I was also born in England, so who knows maybe you and Dylan (3k Steeple) may run together for GB.... That would be something for a couple of Jax kids. Congrats and continued success.

The Jacksonville area currently has the state's best high school distance runner in Rheinhardt Harrison from Nease high. Bradley Ball also graduated from Nease high the year before. Incredible talent in Jacksonville.

Awesome video. I like how you took us through the race and explained the background of the race. I was at the FSU Relays you mentioned. That was a great race by McLeod, Phillips, and you. Congratulations on your success and looking forward to see what's next in your running future.

For two seasons of regionals, I also had a rival player from another region who I beat in my sophomore year (I was a regional champion for the first time). The next year, we faced yet again in the finals and I masked my underlying pre game anxiety with overconfidence from being the defending champion, but that year was her last playing year (I was a junior and she was a senior) and she apparently went all out when we played. It was a really tough and nerve wracking match with every region cheering around us as we played, but I lost after many deuces. It was hard for me to accept the loss. I was still qualified for nationals though, whiiiich was cancelled. I don’t think there will be competitions this year, and it’s sad considering that it’s my last playing year in high school.

Charles! 10:35 haha you were so excited to finish that race! :-D. I've really loved watching your videos these past few weeks! Can't wait for more of them and for when you start your sophomore year at Stanford this fall! It sounds like 4:06/4:07 is your 1600m PR for high school; what's your current PR, Charles? Also, I think in your videos you said that college runners do a 3000m race? Is that because it lines up with what they do in the Olympics? Would love a response to this comment if you read it! You're inspiring me to want to run more and to be the best I can be! =D

haha I only ran one indoor mile before the season ended so those are still my PRs and I think that's why they do the 3k!

What’s your opinion on high schoolers doing doubles everyday?
@charleshicks4 жыл бұрын
I think as long as you're being careful and not overtraining, it shouldn't be too much of an issue. Burnout would be my main concern but what doesn't work for some may work for others so I'd just be mindful of how you're feeling.
