@7:00 also if your car has high mileage and/or damage you can get it re-assessed for a lower rate. Also don't know if they do this in other states but here commercial and rental properties are assessed at a higher rate (probly why it cost more to rent lol) and the commercial assessment is AUTOMATIC so if you move into a new home you need to contact the county thief (assessor) to get ur home assessed at the residential rate (at least thats how it was when i bought my house:) )

15k property taxes here on Long Island…
@TheBillOlson2 жыл бұрын
For what value home?
@Blackbookproduct10ns2 жыл бұрын
@@TheBillOlson it varies…but around 600-650k. At that price point if you find something around 10K taxes that’s a steal. And it can go as high as 18 or so on the higher end at that price point as well.
@TheBillOlson2 жыл бұрын
That’s INSANE and one of the reasons we’re seeing so many transplants. Taxes would be between $2500-$3500 depending on the area. If you work remotely now, that’s a hefty little “raise” and you don’t have to shovel snow!

Hi Bill, Thank you for the Video... Couple in 50's from CA... Charleston is nice but still kind of mulling over where. Any thoughts and comparisons' of the South Carolina/nice areas of Augusta /Simpsonville vs Charleston area. I like the beach but really enjoy biking gravel/MTB and we are used to whole foods/sprouts/etc... A bit apprehensive about hurricane/tornado issues and am still in the job market. Thanks again

Greenville/Simpsonville area is closed to the mountains if you like the outdoors. 3.5 'hours to Charleston. 4 hours drive to Myrtle Beach. 45 minutes to Asheville. 1.5 hours drive to Charlotte and 2.5 hours drive to Atlanta. 4.5 hours drive to Savannah. 4 hours to Hilton Head.

I have heard that the cost of air-conditioning your home is astronomical. and you cant live without it. is this true ?

It all depends on how cold you want your home. Most newer units dehumidify the home efficiently, which means you can keep your temp a little higher and be comfortable. It really helps. And it is true you can't live without it...well you could, if you like to sweat a lot.

$330,000 is not a lot of money for coastal living. Take a look in Cali; you have to ad another digit to live on the coast there. So the cost of living in Charleston SC is quite reasonable. Question, I’m from California and I’m looking to relocate. Maybe Charleston SC. How diverse is Charleston? What minority ethnic group is the largest in Charleston?
@mrpoliceemsfire14 жыл бұрын
Charleston is very white, for the city of Charleston at least. With the population being 72% white, and 21.9% African American. Charleston is also very much religious for Christianity and Judaism. However, Charleston County has a very liberal lean compared to the rest of the state. I actually like to call it "The LA of the South" as it has a lot of beaches, a lot of residential cities nearby, if you look at Los Angeles City Limits, you'll see there are a bunch of smaller cities with official municipal government powers surrounding it, and you'll see the same thing too if you look at Charleston. It also has a massive google data center just west of Charleston, and east of it, the Marine Corp Recruit Depot, similar to the MCRD at San Diego.
