The paintball idea is so dope. I played competitively for 15 years and the sport desperately needs more publicity/funding. Programs like the one mentioned to get kids ready to compete in an Olympic sport would be amazing if actually accomplished. Takes about 5-10 years to become pro level but it just depends how much exposure you have to good coaching and experience playing tournaments. If these kids actually love the game they could be top of the sport in the next couple Olympic Games 100%.

Awesome interview as always. I wish they would’ve touched on the perpetuation of darker skinned people being considered less attractive up until recently, which imo played somewhat of a part in ambiguous people being seen as more attractive in some black people’s eyes

There is some truth to that, especially when you see music videos from the 90s the female love interest was usually light skinned, and shows like a Different World. But opposite from that most of your black sitcom, the mothers were of darker complexion. Movies too. Viola Davis, Alfre Woodard, Whoopi, Angela Bassett, Lupita, Gabriel Union, Denzel, Wesley Snipes, Samuel Jackson, Eddie Murphy, etc.

It was literally bred into us to think that people of lighter skin were of a higher status, and this is coming from caramel skinned woman who never had any complexes about her skin color (mostly bc I was considered light skinned until 2016) but saw the effects of colorism around her and even participated in this perpetuation of lighter being better/ more beautiful.

T.V. is the main reason why people have these views of skin color!! Blacks and other people of color fell for it!!! When T.V. first came out, there were no black and brown people on it. When black people were allowed to be on T.V. they played those slave and maid degrading roles!!! Both white men and women were the faces everyone saw!! That kicked started so many issues: 1. black people felt even worse. 2. It painted such a bad picture of black so much so that other people discriminated against them as well. 3. Black men began to desire, and out of courtesy want white women!! 4. Black women became less beautiful and desirable!!! 5. It caused anger in black women because black men who became face on t.v with more positive roles, and athletes began to make very good money as well as being popular, chose white women over black women!!! 5. When black women began to appear on t.v., they were lighter skinned tone. That caused issues between the lighter skinned tone, black people, and the darker skinned tone people!! These are just a few!!! Only 1. issue was mentioned on this platform. He said," black men have always been curious about white women!! I stated the same thing!!!! The problem with mankind is that our eyes have deceived us!!!! Underneath the top layer of skin, we are all the same!! We have the same organs, and all our bodies work the same way!!! We all fell for the o-key-doke!!!!
