When Trump was mentioned in songs it was almost always reference to conspicuous spending…the way someone might blow their whole check on rims, but on a larger scale. He was the guy that was flashy/tacky and over the top with all the wacky ideas that went bankrupt. It was never referenced as a wise way yo run your business or live your life. Both statements are true b/c initially I was going to disagree completely with CW. What S. Carter learned as a hustler or whatever he did prior assisted in becoming the billionaire we know today. But you're correct, his persona Jay-Z got him into doors, meetings, deals that he may not have been able to get into. Becoming a successful rapper wasn't his end game. I hate when some in media try to diminish his success because of things he may have done when he was younger. He was tenacious and proved you can become more despite your upbringing/circumstances given the opportunity. S. Carter is that guy!!
