Here is my take from an outside observer: The problem is that when the British people get up the next day the threat that the migrants pose to them is still there. Still swathes of military age men from far away places right there in their neighbourhoods when they wake up. These problems arent caused by word tactics like 'divisive rhetoric' or 'hateful ideology' they are caused by real world situations that people experience when they walk outside. Also people are furious at the government since they correctly point out that it has been putting this state of affairs in place against the will of the people for decades. The government has shown no signs of engaging with the will of the people to reduce immigration and undo the consequences of previous immigration. Instead it has jailed people for expressing their grievances at the problem and made plans to further increase immigration. People are turning on the government because a democratic government only has democratic legitimacy insofar as it is willing to implement the will of the people. The British government has spent away all of the trust that the British people placed in it to implement a mass immigration project against their will. The British people no longer trust the government to implement their will or the police to protect them from the migrants. In the absence of this protection, they seek methods to protect their own communities against external threats. In this case the government and the migrants are considered external threats. I feel this is so simple that you would have to make effort to not understand the reality of what is going on here.
