No personal disrespect and I know you weren't in charge of the country on your own, but as a mid 30's Brit I have to say I find it mind-boggling that elders can say things like that as though they weren't around at the time, and had no agency to improve it! The boomer/gen X generation were at the helm in these decades of decline and had the chance to make an impact. So, should millenials do nothing then, and when it gets even worse, just say 'oh, what, how did this happen?' This seems so irresponsible. In some cases perhaps it's easier living the good life on the coattails of WWII vets like it wasn't necessary to maintain the fight for a better future. I know we shouldn't let cultural waves turn us against each other, but I just wonder what changed since the greatest + silent generation? These comments all sound so observer/helpless and always with someone else to blame. Maybe that was and is the problem.

Excellent stuff fella, loved the vid. I grew up in Wavertree and when I was young kid my mate's mam used to take us all to Picton Baths but sometimes the baths were closed and then she would take us all to Lodge Lane but I can't remember where about the where. I don't know if I missed it on the vid but your brought that all back. Thanks for the nostalgia fella. As I said we young, only about 6 and we went for years, but without my mate's mam I would probably not be able to swim, so allow me to say a big "thanks Doreen. Boss vids, keep it going.

Billy the other pub which was on the same block as the coach and horses was called the grapes. Had many a good night down Lodgy back in the day on a pub crawl with my sisters. The Dart then over to the Coach and Horses then the Grapes and the Red Brick which was on the corner of Ritson Street. Great times and great memories. Thanks for the video Billy.

No money should ever be wasted on the Lane, they've turned what was a nice place to live into something simular to a sub Sahara dump. Steve the fish monger, Broster the butcher, Murphys the fruit and veg, Marther's the vintage clothes shop, Pick and Pay the Home Bargains of the Lane... All been replaced by the great replacement... Looks like Tongs chippy is the last original shop. Mr Tong and his family were always nice, the Chinese never rioted or sold crack on the street corners, credit has never really been given to them
