So, remembering my engineer Father's faux mystery regarding e.g. washing machines so he could avoid domestic duties, I decided to start planning duff trips. However, it doesn't seem to matter how duff they are my colleagues still return again & again. And, yes, I do have an extremely posh Scottish accent.

He was friends with the leader of the 60s band the swinging blue jeans and got them to play in the assembly rooms... great venue... he lived at 6 Bootham Crescent... Fast forward to mid 90s my gf at the time went to uni in York and her digs were only a few door down on the same street!! York is a wonderful city and the friendliest people... £18 for a 500gm X-Mas cake, that was so small it divided into only 4 pieces about 3 inches square and 1 1/2 inches thick. not good value for money and the cake itself was dry.
