Was at my aunties wedding then reception in york and us page boys were all dressed in white silk suits, there was these square ponds covered in algae and my cousin thought they were grass and went running out across one and disappeared into the murky water😅 still makes me laugh, shouldve seen the state of him getting pulled out in his white silk outfit covered in green sludge crying his eyes out😂

Myself and some friends spent a weekend in York back in the 90's and we all took acid and went for a walk around town. It was like being in a Harry Potter movie. We felt like little wizards on a mission to find the sprites! Good times 👍🏻

Correct: I'm the organiser for my group of mates for foreign & domestic trips &c.. A while back I tried to pass on the mantle but had no takers. So, remembering my engineer Father's faux mystery regarding e.g. washing machines so he could avoid domestic duties, I decided to start planning duff trips. As a York lass born and bred I really enjoyed watching you walk around my City streets. ❤️ The river is pronounced "Ooze" by the way 😉😁👍 Oh and fun fact... In York (as in within the Bar Walls) it's STILL legal to kill a Scotsman with a bow and arrow upon seeing one EXCEPT on a Sunday ( unless he's drunk then it's ok but not with a bow and arrow) ! My dad lived in York in the mid1960s attended St John Rippon teacher training collage and was an A Level Chemistry Master for a couple of years till he realised it didnt pay so well... He was friends with the leader of the 60s band the swinging blue jeans and got them to play in the assembly rooms... great venue... he lived at 6 Bootham Crescent... Fast forward to mid 90s my gf at the time went to uni in York and her digs were only a few door down on the same street!! York is a wonderful city and the friendliest people... You missed the chapel next to the Minster, namely St Michalmas which was where Guy Faulks congregated!!!

A fun fact i learned from a visit to York from Manchester recently, is that York minster was built so high, is that it's nearest to Heaven, so it was decided many centuries ago, that no building in York can be built higher than the York minster.
