My son and I were at the match. The passing was not as crisp and, sometimes, to no one. Jesus looked good, but couldn’t finish. You could tell we were missing Rice, Saliba, Saka, and Raya. Salah was real good and so was Elliot. Our midfield and defense got caught out several times

Zinchenko getting cooked again and again is really not a good sign. He offers good offensive output, but in my opinion, as a player in a defensive position, defensive output is more important. He can offer a great deal in midfield, but then again, his defending is just so poor and he's seriously lacking in pace. It does feel like Zinny was stop gap, he was never going to be a main stay at left back and more of a temporary fix until the club could find someone to fill the role (Calafiori), and I really think it would be best to cash in on him this summer.

Zinchenko is NOT a midfielder. It’s no surprise Pep and now Arteta will never play him in midfield. He is terrible defensively, playing him in midfield would expose his deficiencies even more and put more players under pressure to cover for his mistakes. If he can’t tackle or track back well at LB he will never be able to do that as a midfielder. Not at the top elite level anyway.

I'd say about last nights action that Arsenal's pre-season tour in the US saw them narrowly lose 2-1 to Liverpool, proving that sometimes the most exciting action is in the transfer market. Partey, Zinchenko, and Kiwior looked like they were playing a different game altogether-maybe they thought it was 'hide and seek' instead of football. As fans, we're just hoping they find new homes before the season kicks off. But hey, it’s pre-season! It’s all about getting those minutes in the legs and seeing who’s hungry to make the first XI. Nothing to stress about... except maybe finding a midfielder who can pass and a striker who can score. Other than that, we’re golden!

Glad we are getting to see the strengths and weakness of our incomplete squad. Overall their performances in the pre season has been not less than impressive to me. I enjoyed every single game irrespective of the results, I have hope that when we get all our targets in and the rest of the squad returning, I can see us fighting for not just the league but one or few more other competitions. To add to that, I hope the players learn how to take chances in any given time. We need to take first time shorts and stop trying to take the extra touch or lay it out to someone else, the more we try taking first time shorts the more confusing it’ll be for oppositions players to close us down quickly and leave spaces behind or close the space and create room for a shooting chance. This game was reminiscent of those games last season that lost arsenal the title: Jesus in attack, havetz in midfield and Zinchenko in defense. It only goes to show how people's takes can differ on performances, I didn't think Jesus did anything to dispel the notion that he has issues in front of goal with this performance. While I'm at it, I think Zinchenko being asked to play one one-on-one with Salah is not a plan we should have baked in, it's not worked out before and it's unfair on Zinchenko. Just for a bit of balance, it should be mentioned that Zinny created our goal with an excellent run. Martinelli did nothing in this game to dispel the notion that he spends too much time on the ball vs making a simple pass and can make the right decision in the final third.
