I have the honor of meeting Charley when he spent some time out in Northern California. My friend Andy Mattern, a harmonica player who played in my band, performed with Charley at the Filmore Theater. Charley is a down to earth guy.

It was his "Land of Bad" song that ran during the closing credits that hooked me. "Paint It Blue". Awesome movie, even better song!!!

He and his girlfriend offered me a spot on their couch, saying, "They offered me a place." Was it crucial to emphasize that the offer came not just from the male, but also from his girlfriend?

For you, maybe. For him, just a Southern way of 'splainin things.

'they offered me a place... him and his lady offered me a place on their couch.' was it important to stress the point the offer didn't just come from a guy but from him _and his lady_ ?
