Wow, kind of you to remember this legend meet up in 1951. Am a Kenyan and 1951 was 10 years before we even got our independence as a republic, considering Kenya is the greatest economy in East and Central Africa. Also with the greatest country music lovers in the world. Of importance to know is that Rodger Whittaker one of the greatest country musicians was born and raised in colonial Kenya in 1930s.

I was at a Charlie Pride show in an outdoor venue. There was an American flag standing at each side and to the front of the stage. While Mr. Pride was singing the wind blew one of the flags over. Without missing a beat, Charlie walked over, stood the flag up and returned to center stage. I have a long line of military people in my family, including myself, and any display of patriotism is dear to my heart. I have no doubt that Mr. Pride loved this wonderful nation of ours and that he also loved Jesus. I have no doubt that he is now singing in heaven and that someday I will see him again in person and be able to sing with him.

Charley Pride reminds me of my college days back in time of yester years. Pleasantly romantic lyrics. Rest in an everlasting perfect peace, until we meet on the resurrection morning. Adieu, brother Pride. We love you. God loves you most.
