Deadwood wasn't just a great show. There were so many amazing life lessons like this.

Charlie was the purest soul in the whole town. Also it’s weird that I have no memory of this scene.

It is so remarkable and moving the level of decency and emotional intimacy in an environment of such brutality. This is a deeply moving scene in a masterpiece series of many great scenes.

Dayton Callie and Kim Dickens are fine actors, and both SO under-rated. Best show ever.

The camera stopped rolling too early. The scene should have ended with: "Still ... get rid of that stupid hat. Ain't no taking you seriously when you look like a Lucky Charms mascot." I would have liked Joanie a lot better except I could not get past that hat. Let's put Al in a rainbow wig while we're at it.

LMAO I hope you were joking. Joanie was a madam, that type of hat was pretty common among them. Kind of a high society elitist type of thing, all part of the gimmick of having a brothel. I guess Joanie was just accustomed to that look, there's nothing laughable or overly theatrical about it.

I think she looks quite fetching. I'd have a fancy word or two for her alright.

"I hate being sick" - By sick, is she talking about her homosexuality?
@blevenn4 жыл бұрын
No, she is talking about her depression and having to deal with it on a daily basis :)
@Losrandir2 жыл бұрын
I do think it is the homosexuality though.

Eight years late, but she's referring to her career as a whore Mistress, and her childhood incest. Joanie thinks that she's ''sick'', like there was something in her that made her prone to that behavior. Obviously, she was a horrible abused child/teen, but she's internalizing those experiences and blaming herself, as many victims do.
