@@scottmoore1614 Chaplin appreciation is relatively new to me. I just started this year. But The Gold Rush, The Kid, Modern Times, The Great Dictator, Limelight... all masterpieces. A Dog's Life. These films actually make me laugh, 100 years after they were crafted. I like Shoulder Arms too, the first war comedy. Chaplin was such a prodigy. I'm still learning his filmography. Wi-fi streaming enables this endeavor. It's a rather fun pursuit.

@@ANDROLOMA My favorites feature films are The Kid, The Gold Rush, City Lights and Modern Times. My favorite short films are The Pilgrim, A Dog’s Life, One AM, and The Immigrant. If you really like Chaplin, I would encourage you to read several books about him. His autobiography (which he wrote in the 1960s) is fascinating. There are two great Chaplin biographies, one by Jeffrey Vance and one by David Robinson. The Robinson book is almost 800 pgs and is one of the greatest biographies ever written, imho. Once you get into Chaplin it becomes a lifetime pursuit. An unparalleled genius.

@@scottmoore1614 I can infinitely respect how much of an innovative trailblazer he was, being one of the very first cinematic actors. I might have to review City Lights again, the boxing scene was great. I'm going to try and see as many of his flicks available to me, but King of New York may remain unavailable for awhile. I'd love to read about him as well, but I'm being stingy with funds. Read a bunch on Wikipedia. Impressive.

With the class divide in the UK, and spending part of his childhood in a workhouse, how gratifying it must have been for Charlie to build an acquaintance with Churchill, an aristocrat and Prime Minster. He literally came from nothing and went in to become the greatest artist of the 20th century.
